2025 MUNDO MIAMI BEACH - SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT

THIS AGREEMENT is matle and entered into Ihis {(O day of /+�'✓� 2025 ("Effecnve
Date"), by and between the City of Miami Beach, Florida, a Florida municipal corporation, with
offices at 1700 Convention Center Drive, Mlami Beach, FL 33139 Qhe "City"), and Miami Dade
College Foundation, Inc., a Florida not for proft Corporation, with offices at 300 NE 2"°Ave; RM
1423-1, Miemi, R 33132 ("Event Organlzer") (altogether, the"AgreemenY').
WITNESSETH :
WHEREAS. the City desires to sponsor the "MUNDO live Music Series" (the "EvenP'), a
series of concerts boasting a diverse array of performers, the event extends a warm invitation to
both locals and tourists, encouraging them ro revel in the opulence of global music right in the
heart of North Beach�, and
WHEREAS, drawing inspiretion from the acclaimed GlobalFest New York, this music
series guarantees to submerge participants in a dynamic tapestry of inelodies, beats, and
wstoms from across the globe�, and
WHEREAS. the festival prides itself on a Ihoughtfully curated lineup featuring artists who
represent an array of musical genres and cultural roots, with a particular focus on those hailing
from Latin America-, and
WHEREAS, beyond the musical experience, this festival functions as a conduit for
community involvement and cultural interchange through workshops conducted by visiting artists;
and
WHEREAS, the MUNDO series will be held at the Miami Beach Bandshell and will take
place on April 5, 2025, May B, 2025, and a third date to be confirmed and completed before
Septemher 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Event will offer a 15°/ discount on tickets for Miami Beach residents�, and
WHEREAS, the Event Organizer applied for sponsorship funtling through the FY 2025
Miami Beach Special Event Sponsorship Program designed to provide financial assistance to
Miami Beach-based special events in the Community Engagement Event category; and
WHEREAS, on June 24, 2024, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution No.
202433113, accepting ihe recommendation of the Tourism and Culture Department for the
approval of a sponsorship, in a recommendetl awartl amount of $16,293.00 for the 2025 Event�.
and
WHEREAS, Ihe City's sponsorship funding for the Event is to be paid directty to Event
Organizer. as more particularly set forth herein, to offset expenses for producing and
presenting the Event.
NOW,THEREFORE,in consideration ofthe mutual promises and covenants made herein,
City and Event Organizer agree as follows-.
1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein.

2. The Term of this Agreement will commence on the Effective Date set fodh above, and shall
expire following the conclusion of the 2025 Event and Event Organizer's completion of all of
its o6ligations hereunder, unless terminated eadier in accordance with this Agreement.
3. Event Organizer shall be solely responsible for producing and promoting all aspects of the
Event, including securing private sponsors and vendors to participate in the Event. The
Event Organizer has advised the City that the Event shall be known and promoted under
the title of the "MUNDO Live Music Series." Event Organizer shall he responsible for the
conduct and operation of the Event and will provide the appropriate officials to conduct the
Event Except as specified herein for the remainder of the term of this Agreement, the City
is under no obligation to fund subsequent Events.
4. The term "EvenY' as used herein shall include the event described in the recitals to this
Agreement Furiher, City shall not be a party to any independent contrects that the Event
Organizer may enter into with other organizations. contractors, or participants in the Event
antllor supporting activities, nor shall City be liable to such third padies. Event Organizer shall
not represent that it is an agent, official, authorized representative, or employee of Ciry.
5. Subject to Event Organizer's compliance with its obligations under this Agreement, Ciry is
responsible for the following:
a) Subject to Event Organizer's compliance with its obligations under this Agreement and an
annual appropriation of funds at the City Commission's sole discretion, City shall provide
Event Organizer with sponsorship funding for the purposes specified herein, in the amount
of$16,293.00 for the 2025 Event�, provided, however, that no more than 15 percent of the
City's lotal sponsorship contribution may be disbursed in advance of the Event. All
remaining cash contributions shall be made on a reimbursement basis, following the
conclusion of the Event antl following Event Organizer's suhmission, and the City's
acceptance, of the final report referenced in this Agreement.
6. Event Organizer shall be responsible for any and all compensation that may be due to any
and all performers, entertainers, vendors, organizations, event sanctioning bodies, vendors,
and participants, and City shall have no such responsibiliry, obligation, or liability. City shall
not be responsible or 1ia61e to competitors for prize money payments, or to any third party for
any asped of the production of the Event.
7. Warranties. Event Organizer warrants and represents that it has all necessary rights,
authority, licenses and permits necessary to enter into this Agreement, to grant the rights
and licenses herein granted, and to carry out its responsi6ilities as set forth herein. Event
Organizer shall utilize the sponsorship benefits and conduct and operate ihe Event in
accordance with all applicable laws, and without endangering others or vioiating tneir righis.
B. Sponsorship benefts. In consideration of [he Ciry sponsarship funding described in this
Agreement, and the mutual promises made herein, Event Organizer shall provide
sponsorship benefits to the City which, at a minimum, shall include the sponsorship benefits
set forth in Section 9 of this Agreement.
9. Public benefit proqram. Event Organizer shall provide a public benefit program to be made
available to City of Miami Beach residents. The EvenPs public beneft program shall include
the following, wherever permissible and applicable within the Event footprint:
A. This is a ticketed event. Miami Beach residents will receive a 15% tliscount on tickets

10. Final reoort. The Event Organizer must provide, within 30 days of the completion of the
Event, a Final Report, detailing the following.
. Third-party verification of Event outcomes including, without limitation, event
attendance figures with proven method of collection, metlia impressions generated by
the event, photos, and videos of the event�,
. The implementation of Ihe public benefit program, including statistics relating ta how
many residents,seniors, and children were served, and how this program was marketed
and communicated to Ihe residents: and
. All supporting documentation required under Section 5 for the payment of the Cash
Sponsorship�. and
. Vendor and community feedback.
11. Sponsorship Requirements
The following is a list of publicity and credit requirements for events or programs receiving
financial or in- kind support from the City of Miami Beach (if applicable)�.
A. Prominently display City of Miami 8each logo in all promotional marketing materials
related to the evenVprogram including, but not limited to, advertisements, brochures,
websites, e-mails, newsletters, banners, posters, event programs, and other print
and/or electronic publications in a manner where the City logo is displayed before
sponsors of lesservalue, and placed in the most prominent position amongst sponsors
of the same level.
B. Live announcement(s)during the event by emcee
C. Operate within the requirements of all City of Miami Beach existing sponsorships
including the non-alcoholic pouring rights agreement with PepsiCo who is granted
exclusivity in ALL non-alcoholic 6everage categories with the exception ot hot tea,
dispensed hot coffee and hot cocoa, and Red Bull who is granted exclusivity in the
Energy Drink category. As well, all soda and water must be served in non-plastic
containers.
D. All complimentary lickets provided by an event/event producer shall be
consistent with the City Commission established policy for the distribution of tickets
and ihe City's Administrative Guidelines tor Oistribution of any tickets and must be
sent to the attention of the Director of the Tourism and Culture Department, located
at 1755 Meridian Avenue—5'" Floor; Miami Beach, FL 33139.
12. Event Orqanizer is responsible for the following�.
A. Event Organizer shall arrenge for vendor concessions inside the enclosed area of the
Event Site. All sales of soft drinks or other beverages must be in compliance with the
City's beverage conVact. Event Organizer will collect all proceeds from Event
concessions. City shall have no responsibility, obligation or Ilability relating to vendor
concessions. Event Organizer shall be solety responsible for ensuring that all vendors'
services are provided in accordance with all applicable laws, including,without limitafion,
all food service, food handling, and alcoholic beverage antl license regulations.
L Event Organizer hereby agrees and acknowledges that, pursuant to Section 82-7 of
the City Code, as may be amended from time to time, Event Organizer shall not sell,
use, provide food in, or oHer the use of expanded polystyrene food service articles (as

defined in City Code Section 82-7) within the Event Site. A violation of this section
shall be deemed a tlefault under the terms of this Agreement. Notwithstanding the
above, this section shall not apply to expanded polystyrene food service articles used
for prepackaged food that have been filled and sealed prior to receipt by Event
Organizer.
2. Additionally, Event Organizer agrees and acknowledges that, pursuant to Section 82-
8 of the City Cotle, as may be amentled from time to time, Event Organizer shall not
sell, use, provide food in, or offer the use of single-use plastic beverege straws or
singie-use plastic stirrers (as defined in City Code Section 82-8)within the Event Site.
A violation of this section shall be deemed a default under the terms of this Agreement.
Notwithstanding the above. the requirements of Section 82-8 shall not restrict Event
Organizer from providing a beverage with, or offering the use of, a single-use plastic
beverage straw or single-use piastic stirrer to an individual with a disability or medical
condition that impairs the consumption of beverages without a single-use plastic
beverage straw or single-use plastic stirrer.
3. Event Organizer agrees ro compty with Section 46-92(c) of the City Code, which
provides that it is unlawful for any person to carry any expanded polystyrene product.
single-use plastic beverage straw, or single-use plastic stirrer onto any beach or park
within the City. It is atso unlawful for any business to provide single-use plastic
beverage straws or sinqle-use plastic stirrers with the service or delivery of any
beverage to patrons on any beach within the City. Notwithstanding the above, the
provisions in Sectian 46-92(c) that oertain to single-use plastic 6everage straws and
single-use plastic stirrers shall not apply to a person or patron with a disability or
medical condition ihat impairs the consumption of beverages without a single-use
plastic beverege straw or single-use plastic stirrer.
Event Organizer hereby agrees and acknowledges that, pursuant ro Section 82 of the
City Code, as may be amended from time to time, Event Organizer shall adhere ro City
prohibition regarding the sale or use of expanded polystyrene footl service articles, single
use plastfc beverage straws, and single-use plastic stirrers.
8. Event Organizer shall be responsibie for handling all media vendors and organizations
and will be solery responsible for handling all issues relating ro the media vendors.
C. Event Organizer shall retain any antl all rights to the Event, including any rights
associated with Event-related apparel andbr product sales.
D. Event Organizer shall keep the City apprised, on a monthly basis, of its pmgress with
respect to the activation of the EvenL City, at its sole discretion, may monitor antl
conduct an evaluation of Event Organizer's implementation of the Event. Event
Organizer agrees to cooperate with Ciry to promptly address any deficiencies or
concems the City may have in connection with the Event.
E. Event Organizer hereby grants City a non-exclusive license and right to use the title of the
Event or any photographiq video, audio or other footage of the Event in connedion with
any Ciry produced publica6on, including the City produced maqazine or any Ciry media
outlets, such as MBN. This section shali survive the tertnination or expiration of this
Agreement.

F. The Event Organizer is a sovereign entity and further warrants that it will maintain for
itself, and its employees, a policy oF self-insurence providing coverage in an amount not
less than the statutory limits of Section 76828, Florida Statutes, as may be amended.
The Event Organizer further warrants that it wiil keep such self-insurance in full force and
effect to respond to any claim arising out of the actions of the Event Organizer or its
employees during the term af this AgreemenLEvent Organizer shall obtain all applicable
federal, state, and local approvals, permits and licenses relating to the Event and any
activities related thereto. Event Organizer shall maintain its good standing in accordance
with the laws of the State of Florida and the City of Miami Beach Code of Ordinances
("City Code"), and shall comply with any federal. state. county or City Code requirement
applicable to Event Organizer or to the Event Organizer's operetion its business or other
activities in the City of Miami Beach, including, without limitation, obtaining any
Certifcate of Use or Business Tax Receipt(s) that may be required for any business
activity, timely making payment of all taxes. fees or charges that may be due to the City.
Event Organizer shall promptly take corredive action to correct any City Code violation
or notice of violation issued by any govemmental agency with junsdiction over Event
Organizer. Further, Event Organizer agrees to comply with the terms and conditions of
any lease, contract, or other grant agreement that Event Organizer may have separately
enteretl into with the City, if any ("Other City Conirects"). Any failure by Event Organizer
to comply with any provision af the City Code applicable to Event Organizer, or any
breach or default by the Event Organizer of any covenant or other term or condition
contained in any Other City Contracts (after the passage of any applicable notice and
cure provision set forth therein), shall, at the option of the City, be considered an event
of Default (as such term is defined more fully below), in which event the City shall be
entitled (but in no event required) to apply all rights and remedies available ro the City
under ihe terms of this Agreement by reason of an Event Organizer's breach or failure
ro comply with said obligations.
G. Subject to Section 76828 of the Rarida Statutes, Event Organizer shall indemnify and
holtl harmless the City and its officers. employees, agents, and contractors, from and
against any and all actions (whether at law or in equity), claims, liabilities, losses,
expenses,or damages, including,without limitation, attorneys'fees and costs of defense,
for personal, economic, or bodily injury, wrongful death, or loss of or damage to property,
which the City or its officera. employees: agents, and contractors may inar as a result
of claims, demands, suits. causes of action or proceedings of any kind or nature arising
out of, relating to, or resulting from the performance of this Agreement by Event
Organizer or its officers, employees, agents,servants, partners, principals or contractors,
or Eveni Organizer's use of the Event Sife, induding, without limitation, any claim that
any aspect of the Event infringes upon any third-party's ezisting copyrights, trademarks,
trade names, or other intellectual property or proprietary righta Event Organizer shall
pay all claims and losses in connedion therewith and shall investigate and defend all
claims, suits, or actions of any kintl or nature in the name of the City, where applicable,
including appellate proceedings, and shali pay all costs, judgments, and attorneys'fees
which may issue thereoa Event Organizer ezpressly understands and agrees that any
insurance protection required by this Agreement, or othervvise provided, shall in no way
limit its obligation, as set forth herein. to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend the City
or its officers, employees, agenis, and contractors as herein provided.
H. Su6ject to the provisions antl limitations of Section 76828, Fbrida Statutes, the City
agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Event Organizer, its directors,
offcers, employees and agents with respect to any and all claims, suits, actions,

liabilities, losses, damages, attomey's fees. interest, penalties, costs and any other
losses of any kind resulting from the City's breach of this Agreement or the negligence
of the City or its offcers, employeea. or directors in the performance of the City's
obligations under this Agreement.
13. Events of Default, Termination of Agreement for cause, and Remedies.
A. The following shall constitute events af defauli.
l�. Any material misrepresentalion, written or oral, made by Event Organizer andlor
its representatives to City.
ii. Failure by Event Organizer to timely perform and/or observe any of the terms and
conditions of this Agreement.
iii. Insolvency or 6ankruptcy on the part of Event Organizer.
B. The occurrence of any event of default by Event Organizer may, at the sole option of City.
operate as an auromatic foAeiture of any rights or benefits conterred under this
Agreement, and accordingly, City reserves the right to revoke the fee waivers,
discontinue the funding provitled for herein, or request the return of sponsorship funds.
C. In the event that Event Organizer is in default of any of ils obligations under this
Agreement, Event Organizer shall be liable for all damages, costs and expenses arising
out of or related to its default. In the event of a default City reserves all legal remedies
available to it. including but not limited to termination of this Agreement (or cause, which
termination may be affected upon ten (10) days written notice to Event Organizer. In the
event of any such termination, City shall have no further obligation or liabiliry to Event
Organizer.
14. Event Organizer shall not assign its rights or obligations under this Agreement without the
City's consent. Any purported assignment in violation of lhis section shall be void and shall
constitute an event of default hereunder.
15. Event Organizer shall keep accurate and complete books and records of all receipts and
expenditures relating to this Agreement, in acwrtlance with generelly accepted accounting
principles, and shall retain such books and records for at least four(4) years after completion
of the Event. At the request of the City, Event Organizer shall provide the City (andlor its
designated representatives) reasonable access to its files, records and personnel dunng
regular business hours for the purpose of making financial audits, evaluations or verifications,
program evaluations, or other verifica6ons concerning �his Agreement, as the City deems
necessary. Furthermore, the City may, at its expense, audit or have audited, all the financial
records of the Event Organizer relatetl to this Event.
i6. This Agreemenl shall constitute the entire agreement between the parties, and no warranties,
inducements, considerations, promises or other references shall be implied or impressed
upon this Agreement that are not ezpressly addressed herein.
17. This Agreement shall be governed as to performance and interpreted in accordance with the
laws of the State of Florida. Any claim or dispute arising out of the terms of this Agreement
shall be litigated in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

18. It is expressly understood and agreed lhat this Agreement is for the duration of this Event onty
and that Event Organizer has no right or privilege other than that expressty provided herein.
19. Event Organizer agrees that nothing herein contained is intended or shoultl be construed as
in any way creating or establishing the relafionship of partners orjoint venturers between City
and Event Organizer. In no event shali Event Organizer represent to any third party Ihat it is
acting as an agent, representative or on behalf of City for any purpose or in any manner
whatsoever.
20. City's right to suspend activities or remove persons from event site: The City Manager shall have
the authority to suspend all or any part ot the activities of Event Orqanizer when, in the City
Managers sole judgment and discretion, such activities may be or are deMmental to the public or
lo the City, or if the City has reason to believe any law or ordinance is being violated by Event
Organizer, its agents or employees. Ciry reserves the nght through the City Manager, to suspend
or terminate use of the Event Site if visitors become unruly, and to reject any sponsoc.
presentation, material or item which is or may be, in the sole opinion of the City Manager..
hazardous, offensive, immoral or dispareging to the image of the City, or to any person or group
of persons.The decision of the City Manager in such regard shall 6e final,binding, and conclusive.
21. Termination for Convenience.
a. The Event Organizer may conduct Ihe Evem for the Term of this Agreement, unless the Ciry
Manager decides to discontinue the Even[, atthe City Manager's sole and absoWte discretion,
for any reason or no reason whatsoever, for the convenience of the City. The City Manager
shall notify the Even[Organizer, in writing, of the Gty's termination of this Agreement.
b. The Event Organizer may elect, during ihe Term of this Agreement, to termina[e this
Agreement and no longer conduct the Event. If the Event Organizer eiects to terminate
this Agreement. the Event Organizer shall notify the City in wnting prior to the December
30. If the Event Organizer elects not to conduct the Event or elects not to seek an
extension of the terms of this Agreement, this Agreement wi�l automatically terminate.
22. GOVERNING LAW AND ATTORNEV'S FEES-. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws
of the State of Fbrida, with venue lying in Miami-Dade County. In the event of any dispute
which arises out of this Agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to reasonable
attomey's fees and costs, including bankruptcy andlor appeal if any.
23.ASSIGNMENT: No assignment of the rights, interest or obligation under this Agreement shall
be matle by either party without the written consent of the olher.
24. AMENDMENL No modification amendment or alteration of the terms or conditions contained
herein shall be effective unless contained in a written document ezecuted by [he parties
hereto. with the same formality and of equal dignity herewith.
25. EXTENT OF AGREEMENT: This Agreement represents the enlire and integrated Agreement
between City and Event Organizer and supersedes all prior negotiations, represeniations, or
agreements either written or oral.
26. NOTICE: Whenever any party desires to give notice to any other party. it must be given by written
notice sent by registered United States mail,with reNm receipt requested, addressed to the party

for whom it is intended at the place designated below and the place so designated shall remain
such until they shall have been changed by written notice in compliance with the provisions of this

27. CORPORATE STATUS This Agreement shall automaticaliy terminate it, within thirty (30) days

documentation evidencing that Event Organizer is registered to do business in the State of Florida.

SPONSORSHIP/MARKETING BENEFITS:
o Event Organizer shall have a ro6ust marketing pian, wiih a copy of the plan to be supplied to the
City
o Should the City's name not appear in the loqo lockup, the Event must recognize the Ciry of
Miami Beach as a top tier partner in all announcements, posts, coverage and other, where
event name is used.
o City name recognition/logo to be prominently displayedon promotional materials including
press releases. and all printed (stage banners, programs, site signage), social and digital
collateral.
o No press releases, public announcements or public disclosures relating to this
Sponsorship or its subject matter, including but not limited to promotional or marketing
material, shall be made public made by the Event without the prior written consent of the
City.
o The Parties agree not to use the other Partys name or Event names in any promotional
matenal or public announcement without p�ior written or oral consent of the other.
o Event Organize� agrees to make every effort to make themselves available for photo calls
andlor interviews with press or broadcasting agents with a minimum of iwenty-four(24)
hours' notice to any media event.
o Event Organizer shall use i[s best eiforts to have Producers and Artists inclutled in phoro
calls or media interviews, including a City photo op and a promo video to be recorded by
the City of Miami Beach foi archival and promotional purposes.
o OpportuniTy for City representative to speak at all press conferences and ribbon cutting
events
o Event Organizer shall inform the City of all press events with at least twenty-four(24)
hours' priar notica.
o Event Organizer shall provide the City with all video and photogrephy, captured by Event
Organizer, or its tlesignated production team, from the Event, for arohival and promotional
purposes. and grants City a non-exclusive license to the City for its use.
o City to be allowed to have two (2) photographers and iwo (2) video operarors within the event site,
including any space dedicated to media.
o Event Organize�shall provide the City with up to four (4)VIP tickets (if available)to be contested
away on City owned social media l digital channels.
o Event Organizer shall provide working passes for all City Marketing and Communications staff
who will be working the event City to pmvide a con�rmed list of individual names no later than
seven (7)days before fhe Event date.
o Event Organizer shall tag @miamibeachnews QG, Twirier) or @CityofMiamiBeachGovernment
(FB) in all social media posts
o Event Organizer shall promote the Event on all Event Organizer owned social and digital
channels, starting at least one month prior to Event start date.
o Event Organizer shall produce dedicated City, non-sales specitiq spotlight Instagram posts.
o Event Organizer shall produce dedicated City, non-sales specifiq spotlight Tweets on Twitter.
o City name recognition/lo90 on step&repeat banners.

WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Special Event Sponsorship Program (the "Program")
was created in June 2021 to assist the City in the review of event sponsorship antl fee waiver
� requests; and
WHEREAS, the Program process is formalized antl allows the Administration to
properly analyze and budget special event sponsorship requests; and
WHEREAS, the Citys current sponsorship process is codifed within Section 12-7 of
the City Code, which provides that "in considering approval of a Sponsorship for an event,
the City Commission may CAnsider:
i. whether the event organizer has exercised good-faith, diligent efforts to apply for
grant funding that may be available from the CiTy's Visitor antl Convention Authority
("VCA") or Culturai Arts Council (" CAC");
ii. the Event organizer's history and performance in delivering quality Events;
iii_ any benefts being directly provided to the general public with respect to the Event,
such as free or discounted tickets to persons residing in the City of Miami Beach,
seniors, veterans, or member of disadvantaged groups;
iv. whelher the event is accessible to the general public (either as a ticketed event or
otherwise);
v. the demonstrable economic impacts associated with the Event;
vi. the demonstreble media commitmen4s secured by the Event organizer for the Event;
or
vii. the efforts undertaken by the Event organizer to mitigate any quality of life impacts
� associated with the Event, including noise, littering, traffic or parking impacls
associated with an EvenP'; and
WHEREA5, sponsorship requesis are generally to be reviewed well in advance of the
date of each event, either as part of the City Commission' s annuai budget process, or through
applications ro the VCA or CAC; and �
WHEREAS, any sponsorships request that falls outside of the standard review
process is subject to the Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee (FERC) advisory
review, as well as a heightened 5/7'"s approval requirement by the City Commission; and

WHEREAS, the Progrem addresses these elements and provides a platform for
event organizers to apply for City sponsorship in advance, and allows the Atlministration
time to do a proper due diligence and budget planning for the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, since its inception, the AdminisVation has witnessed an increased
interest in the Program, both from producers of large-scaie events and community event
organizers. To date, the Tourism and Cullure Department (TCD) has managed three cycles of
the Program.At the July 26,2023, City Commission mee�ing, the Mayor and City Commissioners
voted to approve the revisions to the Special Event Guidelines via Resolution No. 2023-32701.
The approved revisions included the bifurcation of the Special Evenf Sponsorship Program, to
allow the Program to be independent from the guidelines; and
WHEREAS, at the September 1Z, 2023 City Commission meeting, the Mayor and
City Commission voted via Resolution No. 2023-32745 to amend and restate the City's
Special Even[ Sponsorship Program requirements by (1) creating two distinct event
sponsorship categories, including minimum requirements and evaluation criteria, for
"Major Special Events" and "CommunRy Engagement events," and an evaluatfon
process to review and score sponsorship requests based upon weighted criteria, and (2)
establishing maximum sponsorship funding amounts per event; and
WHEREA3, accordingly, in its thirtl year, the program applications opened on
January 1, 2024, and closed February 29, 2024. The program is hosted at:
MBEventSponsorship.gosmart.org. For each cycle, applirants who meet the requirements
are scored by a review panel and subsequently approved hy the Mayor and City Commission;
and
WHEREAS, for the category of Major Special Event, eleven (1'I)event organizers
opened the application, six (6) event organizers completed the application, and five (5)
event organizers were qualified for review. For the category of Communily EngaqemeM
Event, nine(9)event organizers opened the appliration, and five(5)event organizers completed
the application and qualified for review;and
WHEREAS, the ten (10) applicants who met all requirements, induding tleadlines,
were reviewed, and scored by a panel wnsisting of City staff, and members of the
Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Miami Beach Ysitor and
Convention Authority. Incomplete applications were disqualified, and applicants were
invited to apply during the next session, which launches on January 1, 2025, and will
close on February 28, 2025; and
WHEREAS, application scoring included an e#ensive review process that
reviewed non-profit status, length of event, history of event, hotel room block (when
applicable), whether attendees are regional, national and/or intemational,
resident/community benefit, marketing, and public relations exposure, utilization of local
venues, tax documentation, and more. Applicants were required to have a mandatory
dollar for dollar ($1 to $1) match and demonstrate this match through wsh, other
matching sponsorships, and/or in-kind contributions; and
WHEREAS, according to the Special Events Sponsorship Program, an application
must score at least 65% on the Sponsorship Score Card for the administration to
recommend that the sponsorship be awarded. Only eight (8) met the lhreshold and one

event subsequently withdrew their proposal for 2025. Based on these guidelines, the
administration is making the following funding recommendations:
• Miami Fashion Week in an amount of$70,300;
• Miami Beach Holiday Festival in an amount of$82,888;
• Queen 8 King of the Court Miami Beach in an amount of$74,575;
• Miami Takeover in an amount of$33,883;
• Simchas Bais Hashoeiva(SBH)in an amount of$15,485;
• 2024 Miami Beach WoAd Open in an amount of$14,250;
• MUNDO Miami 9each in an amount of$16,293;and
• The Juneteenth Expenence in an amount of$16,483;and
WHEREAS, the Administretion recommends the approval of the Miami Beach
Special Event Sponsorship recommendation for Fiscal Year 2025, in an amount not
to exceed $324,157 for the eight(6) aforementioned events.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND

City Commission hereby accept the recommendations of the Tounsm and Culture

BACKGROUNDIHI5TORY
The Miami Beach Special Event Sponsorship Progrem(Ihe'Program")was created on June 23,
2021, via Resolufion No. 2021-31742 to assist the City in the review of event sponsorship antl
fee waiver requests.The Program pmcess is formalized and allows the Administration to properly
analyze and budget special event sponsorship requests.
The Program is available for events held in Miami Beach. The purpou is to provide financial
assistance and in-kind support to high-qualiry local festivals, special events, community events,
� or programming that promote community engagemeni and elevates Miami Beach as a wodd-
class tourist destination. �
The City of Miami Beach wnsiders special events t�at:
• provide unique and engaging experiences that increase resident quality of life;
• increase tounsm by hotel rooms block contract(s)anC targeted tourist attendance;
• promote Miami Beach as a nalional and international tounst destinatlon;
• accessi6le to the generai public; and
• sirengthens Miami Beach by enhancing Ihe Ciry's CWWraI Events.
The City's current sponsorship process is within the Ciry Code:
Section 72-6 of the Ci�y Cotle defnes a sponsorship as any contract, g2nt, or other commitment
by the City to funtl an event, eRher through:
• A psh or irnkind wntribution, in any amount; or
• A reimbursement for City special event-relatetl wsts(police,fire, sanitation): or
. A waiver of special event permit fees(inclutling user fees,atlmin fees,and square footage
fees), in excess of$25,000.

This letter is to express our intent to create a new annual Iradition within the Gty of
Miami Beach- The Juneteenth Experience. First launchetl in 2021. The Juneteenth
Experience is a mulfidisciplinary celebration of our country�s second independence day.
Juneteenth, and has been steadily growing into one of the most anticipated Juneteenth
events in Miami-Dade County and it has been an honor to have it proCuced with the
beautiful city of Miami Beach.
Juneteenth-also known as Freedom Day-celebrates the emancipation of those who
were enslaved in the Umted States. Building on three sold-out Juneteenth Evperience
performances in 2021. 2022, and 2023. Huetl Songs is crystalhzing a strong Juneteenth
iradition across Miami-Dade with a mWtidisciplinary Juneteenth
performance/celebration. 2025 will mark the fifth annuai Juneteenth Experience.

While certainly Ihis performance honors an impoRant day in our history. it champions
tenets of equiry across a mWtitude of issue areas. Access to the arts is an equity issue.

�ive Arts Miami is an action-driven, people-centered platform for powerful performances,
impactful community programs and leaming experiences that spark dialogue, raise awareness
aiound pressing issues, and open minds and hearts in all who take part. LAM is a place tor
artists, community mem6ers, and students to come rogether az one.
MUNDO Miami Beach aspires to kindle the cultural spirit of the ciry through an exhilara[ing
one-day extravaganza held at [he iconic Miami Beach Bandshell on lanuary 25, 2025. Drawing
inspiration from the acdaimed GlobalFest New Yo�k, this festival guaran[ees to submerge
participants in a dynamic tapestry oF melodies, 6eats, and customz trom across the globe.
Boasting a diverse array of performers and handron workshops, the event extends a warm
invitation to both locals and[ouris[s, encouraging them to revel in the opulence of global music
right in the heart of North Beach.
7he festival prides itself on a thoughtfully curated lineup featuring artists who represent an
array of musical genres and cultural roots, with a particular fows on those hailing from Latin
America. Beyond[he musical experience, this festival functions as a mnduit for community
involvement and cultural interchange through on-site workshops conducted by visiting artists.
These workshops extend invitations to studen[s, Fostering ronnections with di�erse e.pressions
and cWtivating cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
We are in discussions with GlobalFest New York,which has been producing an amazing event of
wtstanding caliber since 2003, to create a partnership to benefit MUNDO Miami Beach This
partnership would take advantage o/routing opportunities for the high caliber artists already in
New York(or GlohalFest, by featuring[hem in the MUNDO Miami Beach lineup while already in
the United States.
