A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, REAFFIRMING THE CITY'S COMMITMENT TO COMBATING
HUMAN TRAFFICKING, SUPPORTING VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS, AND
PROMOTING CITYWIDE AWARENESS; AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION

WHEREAS, Florida consistently ranks among the top three states in the number of calls
made to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, highlighting the urgent need for continued
vigilance and action at the local level; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has recently experienced high-profile cases of
human trafficking within its jurisdiction, emphasizing the need for strengthened local efforts to
address and prevent such crimes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and its Human Rights Committee are committed to
supporting victims and survivors of human trafficking and reaffirm their dedication to eradicating
this human rights violation from our community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach actively promotes public awareness and education
on how to recognize and report suspected human trafficking through citywide campaigns and
community engagement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach values collaboration among City departments,
including the Miami Beach Police Department, and community organizations in efforts to prevent
trafficking and provide critical services to survivors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby reaffirm the City's commitment to combating human trafficking, supporting
