SUBJECT: MIAMI-DADE COUNTY CITIZENS’ INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION TRUST
SURVEY OF MIAMI BEACH RESIDENTS ON TRANSIT OPTIONS
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform the Mayor and City Commission of
the results of a recent survey commissioned by the Miami-Dade County Citizens’ Independent
Transportation Trust (CITT) on the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan Beach
Corridor project, which proposes to extend Metromover service from Downtown Miami to Miami
Beach via the MacArthur Causeway and 5 Street corridors. The survey was conducted by
Bendixen & Amandi, a Miami polling company, from March 31 through April 4, 2025 and consisted
of 400 interviews, in English and Spanish, with adult residents of the City of Miami Beach.
