WHEREAS, on Octobei 70, 2023, the parties exewted Amendment No. 8 to the
Agreement, saitl amentlmem extending the term of the Agreement to June 30. 2024; and
WHEREAS, FIU and M-DCPS entered into an inter-Institulional agreement in the
summer of 2023 (Ihe "M-OCPS-FIU AgreemenC') to promote educetional opportunities
[hrough the dual enrollment program in Miami-Dade Counry, a copy of which is attached as
Exhi6it A and incorporetetl into this Agreement by reference; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the M-DCPS-FIU Agreement, CM8 seeks to deploy
its resources with M-OCPS antl FIU in order lo increase lhe competitiveness of IhesWdents
of Miami Beech Senior High School by nurluring and suppoRing Ihe dual enmllment
pro9rams serving Miami Beach Senior High School (lhe "High Sc�ooi"), Miami Beach
Naulilus Middle School (ihe"Mitld�e School") and Ne AMami B�ch Fienberg Fisher K-8(the
"K-8 Center");and
WHEREAS. Ihe paNes desire to again amend Ihe Agreement to continue the
expension of t�e program. as FIU resources pertnit, by provitling dual enrollment classes al
the Midtlle SchooL m order to provitle 8'"qredere. who attentl the Mid01e School anE the K-8
Center, with the opportunity to take tlual enmllment courses at lhe Middle School, and to
esta6lish guidelinas for CMB to financially support iha dual enrWlment courses taught al the
High School antl MiCdle School; antl

to altocate at leasl 50% of !he funtls received from dual emollment bonus full-time
equivalency ("FTE') to the schools that generated funds to support sWdent apdemic antl
posisecondary readiness: and
WHEREAS, the add-on bonus funtling amounls received by the school tlistncts.
pursuant to the Fbritla Eduration Finance Pmgram, for each student who completes a
gene2l education core course or associate degree, with a specRied leller grade or GPA.

and if unable lo utilize for course ezpansion, 100% of(untls will be used to reduce CMB's
Fall and Spring semester conVibution; and CMB will explore expandetl paMership to allow
for summer dual enrollment courses[hrough atlditional university partnersPips; antl
WHEREAS, ehe DepaRmant ot Education ('DOE")will provide guidance on how t�e
data of eligible tlual enrollment courses will be repotled ro the DOE dunng Survey 5; and
subsequently, inPormation and instructions will be pmvided to school si�es; and when final
grades are available, t�e amount o� funUs that are eapected will be calculated and shared
with CMB each year; antl
WHEREAS, on Juty 24, 2024 the Mayor antl Commission passed Resolution No.
202a33180 to amentl ResoWtion No. 20n9-30958, Reso�wion No. 2021-31572, and
Resolution No. 202232099, which aOProvetl an aqreemem between the Ciry antl Miami-
Dade Counry Public School Boartl for�he City�o funtl dual enrollment courses[hrough Miami
Datle Cotlege, Florida International University and the Universiry of Fbrida at Miami Beach
Naulilus Mitldle Scho01 and Miami Beach Sr. High Sc�ool. Said amentlment allows for funds
in the amount of E41,432 to be usetl as needed lo meet Ne neetls of the community t�rough
all approved provitlers of tlual enmllment courses ihmugh the 2024-2025 scho0l year and
each subsepuent year Nereafter, subJect lo funding approval during.

1. M-DCPS shall pay FIU $1,700 for academic moni�oring and oversght byan PIU Faculry
LiaisoMMantor (the Oversigh( fee) per unique aual enrollment course laught by a High
School Teacher or Mitldte School Teacher who serves as a courtesy appoinlment IecNrer
for FIU. At the repuest of CMB antl as agreetl u0on by FIU, credentialed CMB Employeas
or CMB Residents shall receive moniloring and wersigh� at ihe Hiqh School or Middle
School. The Oversight fee is waived when an FIU faculty or adjunct insimctor teaches
Ihe course. FIU's Division of Academic Affairs will invoice the District for these Oversight
fees.
