LTC 245-2025 Miami Beach Juneteenth Celebrations 2025 OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER LTC # LETTER TO COMMISSION TO: Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission FROM: Eric Carpenter, City Manager DATE: Thursday, June 13, 2025 SUBJECT: Miami Beach Juneteenth Celebrations 2025 The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to announce the cultural programming for Juneteenth. The City of Miami Beach will honor the 160th Juneteenth Independence Day by hosting its fifth annual Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the date recognized as the end of slavery in the United States. The following is the calendar of events: Event: City of Miami Beach Juneteenth Day of Freedom Celebration Date: Thursday, June 19, 2025 Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Location: 1100 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL Join the City of Miami Beach and the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District as we commemorate Juneteenth. The evening kicks off at 5:30 PM at Euclid Oval with a dance performance by “Miami’z Finest” and a showcase from Florida Memorial University's “The ROAR Drumline.” Join the performers' procession down Lincoln Road, and experience Journey of Divine Souls, a stunning dance performance by the Peter London Global Dance Company.
