Resolution 2025-33755 RESOLUTION NO. 202533755 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO ROUTE ALL "HOMELESS ACTIVITY" REPORTS SUBMITTED VIA THE MB GOV MOBILE APPLICATION TO THE MIAMI. BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT (MBPD) DISPATCH, IN ADDITION TO THE HOUSING & COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, TO ENSURE TIMELY RESPONSE AND ENFORCEMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is committed to addressing homelessness through a combination of outreach services and enforcement measures that uphold public safety and community welfare; and WHEREAS, reports of"Homeless Activity" submitted via the MB Gov mobile application are currently routed exclusively to the Housing & Community Services Department, which does not operate 24 hours per day or 7 days a week, often resulting in delays in response; and WHEREAS, allowing reports to be sent to MBPD dispatch in addition to Housing & Community Seroices will enable law enforcement to assess and respond to incidents in real time, particularly during nights and weekends when outreach personnel may be unavailable; and WHEREAS, MBPD dispatch will establish an internal protocol for processing reports submitted via the app, determining when an officer response is necessary; and WHEREAS, this dual-reporting approach reinforces the City's commitment to public safety while maintaining access to outreach services for unhoused individuals; and WHEREAS, the Administration will inform residents of this procedural change through offcial City communication channels, including digital platforms, newsletters, and notifications within the MB Gov app; and WHEREAS, implementation of this revised reporting structure should leverage existing personnel and infrastructure, requiring no additional funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, thal the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the City Administration to route all "homeless activity" reports submitted via lhe MB Gov mobile application to the Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD) dispatch, in addition to the Housing & Community Services Department, to ensure timely response and enforcement.
