A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO COLLA80RATE WITH THE NEW WORLD
SYMPHONY AND THE GREATER MIAMI SPORTS COMMISSION, INC.
(HOST COMMITTEE), TO PRODUCE FIFA WORLD CUP WALLCASTS
DURING THE 2026 WORLD CUP MATCHES PLAYED IN SOUTH
FLORIDA AND OTHER NOTABLE GAMES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and the New World Symphony, Inc. (NWS)
entered into a Video and Audio System Agreement dated November 29, 2007, for the
operation, scheduling, and content of the programming of the external video and audio
systems at SoundScape Park (the "Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement was amended by Amendment No. 1 dated May 16,
2018, to include the development of two additional viewing and listening areas
("Livingrooms") at SoundScape Park, with the City funding the expansion of the audio
system and NWS funding the expansion of the video system; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2018-30300,
approving the City's contribution to the Expansion Project in an amount not to exceed
$752,000, and NWS's responsibility for the purchase, installation, and maintenance ofthe
LED Video Walls; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2019-31068,
approving a Lease Agreement with NWS for the construction of a storage facility for the
LED screens, funded by the City from the previously appropriated Expansion Project
funds; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2025-33897, adopted on May 21, 2025,
the Mayor and City Commission approved a $1.9 million grant for wallcast audio system
upgrades to enhance the audio and visual experience at SoundScape Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach recognizes the importance of promoting
cultural and sporting events that enhance the community's engagement and enjoyment;
and
WHEREAS, the FIFA World Cup 2026 presents a unique opportunity to showcase
matches played in South Florida and other notable games through wallcasts at
SoundScape Park, providing an immersive experience for residents and visitors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOWED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the City Administration to collaborate with New World
Symphony and The Greater Miami Sports Commission, Inc. (Host Committee), to
produce FIFA World Cup wallcasts during the 2026 World Cup South Florida matches
and other notable games.
