A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, WAIVING THE RENTAL FEE, IN THE
APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $2,500, FOR THE USE OF THE MIAMI
BEACH BOTANICAL GARDENS AS A VENUE FOR RESILIENCE
ACTION FUND'S ANNUAL MARK SAMUELIAN AWARDS IN URBAN
RESILIENCE, SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON OR ABOUT NOVEMBER
17, 2025.
WHEREAS, Resilience Action Fund ("RAF") is a community-based nonprofit
501(c)(3) organization that was established in 2015; and
WHEREAS, since its establishment, RAF has educated and guided consumers
and policymakers to create stronger, more resilient homes and communities, able to
withstand natural and climate hazards; and
WHEREAS, R4F has established its annual Mark Samuelian Awards in Urban
Resiliency, in honorofthe legacy of the late Miami Beach Commissioner Mark Samuelian,
and is planning on holding its third annual award ceremony at the Miami Beach Botanical
Gardens on or about November 17, 2025; and
WHEREAS, R4F has requested that the City waive the Miami Beach Botanical
Gardens' rental fee, in the approximate amount of$2,500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby waive the rental fee, in the approximate amount of $2,500, for the
use of the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, as a venue for Resilience Action Fund's
annual Mark Samuelian Awards in Urban Resilience, scheduled to be held on or about
November 17, 2025.
