A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO DEPLOY
AS MANY ADDITIONAL POLICE DECOY VEHICLES AS PRACTICABLE
THROUGHOUT THE CITY, IN AN EFFORT TO FURTHER ENHANCE PUBLIC
SAFETY AND DETER CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.
WHEREAS, the Cily of Miami Beach remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the
safety and security of its residents, visitors, and businesses; and
WHEREAS, proactive law enforcement initiatives—including the sirategic use of police decoy
vehicles—have demonstrated effectiveness in deterring criminal activity and promoting community
safety; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Police Department has utilized decoy police vehicles as a
proven, cost-effective crime prevention tool that enhances police visibilily and dissuades criminal
behavior; and
WHEREAS, the strategic placement of decoy vehicles throughout the City contributes to the
perception of a heightened police presence, thereby serving as a deterrent to potential offenders; and
WHEREAS, City residents, local community leaders, and business owners have expressed
strong support for innovative public safety measures, recognizing that enhanced law enforcement
visibility contributes to a more secure and imiting environment for all; and
WHEREAS, the deployment of additional police decoy vehicles aligns with the City's
comprehensive approach to proactive policing and crime deterrence; and
WHEREAS, adopting innovative strategies—including the use of additional police decoy
vehicles across higher-risk and higher-traffic areas—will provide tangible benefits in reducing crime
and enhancing public confidence in the City's public safety measures; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission seeks to expand this initiative by increasing the number of
police decay vehicles deployed Citywide.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BYTHE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, hereby direct the City Administration to deploy as many additional police decoy
vehicles as practicable throughout the City, in an effort to further enhance public safety and deter
criminal activity.
