ADDITIONAL HOURS FOR PRESSURE WASHING, a Letter To Commission (L TC) was requested to provide updates on enhanced sanitation cleaning efforts, particularly on the City's Gum Stain Removal Program, approved via Resolution No. 2024-32907, and Pressure Washing Project on residential areas, approved via the Fiscal Year 2025 Millage Rate and Operating Budget. The following L TC is to provide you an update on the Public Works Sanitation cleaning efforts: Gum Stain Removal Program The City currently services: •South Beach: Collins Avenue, Alton Road, 5th Street, and reported areas of concern •Middle Beach: Collins Avenue, Indian Creek, 41 st Street, and reported areas of concern •North Beach: Collins Avenue, Indian Creek, 71st Street, Normandy Drive, and reported areas of concern In addition to the current services rendered in commercial locations, Sanitation staff has extended its scope to include areas that are called in for service on a recurring basis through eGov requests, service calls, emails, cleanliness index, and from in-field assessments made by City personnel. Additional areas are continuously being evaluated and added to the scope on an as-needed basis. Pressure Washing in Residential Areas Public Works Sanitation has ordered five (5) F-350 pickup trucks and five (5) pressure washing machines. The equipment is expected to arrive in August 2025. Six (6) staff members, one (1) supervisor and five (5) field staff, have been selected through the recruitment process and are currently undergoing background screening through the HR Department. The hiring paperwork is expected to be completed by the end of July. Once this process is completed, new hires will be provided with field training and route assignments.
