(Meiner) 310-205 Miami Beach United Board of Directors Resolutions for City Commission meeting 7.23.2025 C7K No Commission Sponsor -City Manager RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO CONCESSION AGREEMENT AMONG THE CITY, BOUCHER BROTHERS MIAMI BEACH,LLC AND BOUCHER BROTHERS MIAMI BEACH 21 &46ST, LLC AUTHORIZING A ONE (1)YEAR PILOT PROGRAM FOR THE SALE OF A SET MENU OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITHIN THE LUMMUS PARK AND 21 ST STREET BEACHFRONT CONCESSION AREAS Miami Beach United DOES NOT SUPPORT this resolution or contract amendment allowing for the City sponsored sale of alcoholic beverages on the beach.Further, this item,in accordance with our City Charter, should be listed as a Residents'Right to Know item and it is not. This resolution sabotages the new image and branding the city has stated as a goal to promote a healthy lifestyle, family oriented atmosphere and reducing crime and chaos. To add alcohol service mid-contract,when Boucher Brothers has enjoyed two decades of a no bid contract seems doubly unfair to potential competitors and is NOT in the best interests of the residents'health or safety. The argument that the city is missing tax revenue due to individuals already selling alcohol illegally is not justification to approve this amendment.Enforcing the code and fining them heavily for selling alcohol illegally is the appropriate measure. An additional negative impact would be felt by those nearby businesses who currently sell alcohol on premises.
