Dear Telecommunication Provider,
On behalf of the Mayor and Commission of the City of Miami Beach, I am writing to address
the urgent need for improved cellular reception along the Julia Tuttle Causeway, as outlined
in the recently adopted City Commission Resolution 2025-33761, which is attached for your
reference.
This Resolution, which builds upon previous efforts, including Resolution No. 2022-32240,
highlights the urgent need to increase bandwidth and coverage along the Julia Tuttle
Causeway. As detailed in the Resolution, this major transportation corridor serves as a vital
commuter route, and reliable high-speed cellular coverage is essential for public safety,
access to navigation services, emergency communication, and general mobile connectivity.
The City continues to receive concerns from residents, commuters, and public safety
personnel regarding inadequate cellular reception and bandwidth along significant stretches
of the Causeway, presenting a significant risk to public safety, particularly in emergency
situations.
The Mayor and Commission firmly believe that the immediate improvement of cellular
infrastructure and bandwidth in this high-traffic area is in the best interest of the health, safety,
and general welfare of our residents and visitors alike. Therefore, we strongly urge and
request that your company take immediate and decisive action to evaluate your infrastructure
along the Julia Tuttle Causeway and implement all necessary steps to significantly enhance
network performance, aligning with the City's objective to provide reliable and high-quality
communication services to our community without delay.
We respectfully request a response outlining plans and a timeline for increasing bandwidth
and coverage along the Julia Tuttle Causeway. We would also welcome the opportunity to
discuss this matter further, should you be available for a meeting or a telephone call.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. We look forward to your timely response
and collaboration.
Sincerely,
