The purpose of this Letter to the Commission (LTC) is to inform the Commission of six
(6) motions passed by the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Panel on North Beach at their meeting
held on August 21,2014
Members Present: Ricky Arriola, Margueritte Ramos, Daniel Veitia
f ) MOTION: To cut ties to the Basis of Design Report (BODR) for North Shore
neighborhood to allow us to properly plan the future of the neighborhood in a way
that is not restricted by a documentthatwas developed in 1998.

2l MOTION: To request the Gity engage a master planner for North Beach to
include an engineer that can design the North Shore Neighborhood lmprovements
as part the master planning team.

3) MOTION: Requesting the Historic Preseruation Board withdraw
consideration of historic designation for both the North Shore and Normandy lsles
districts at this time, but to revisit fhe issue in one year to give the City time to
prepare a master plan for North Beach with a strong consideration of a vision for
historic preseruation.

going cataloging historic properties in the proposed Normandy lsles and North
Shore historic districts to be completed before February 2015, and to continue a
process of active engagement and education with the public.

Visitor's Bureau and Bruce Turkel to do a presentation on final branding of North
