Celebrate a major construction milestone (an. 20 l5) on Alton Road and promote a month long
series of events/promotions for residents to enjoy and businesses to prosper (see Sponsorship

BACKGROUND
During January 2015, a number of organizations and businesses will host events/promotions on
Alton Road
ARBA will undertake a concerted effort to market and orchestrate "Let's Meet on Alton"
The kick-offof "Let's Meet on Alton" will offer an excellent media opportunity (tentatively
scheduled forTuesday l16l15, I l:00 am at the intersection ofAlton and Lincoln)
lnitial feedback has been promising; MB City support will be very important
Early fundraising efforts have raised $4500 toward goal of $25000
HOW CANTHE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH HELP
Provide seed funding to execute marketing and event organization required
Pass a proclamation acknowledging this milestone and the Let's Meet on Alton event
Mayor and Commissioners to attend and speak at the ribbion cutting event

Summary
Because of the lengthy road construction, a great percentage of our local and loyal customers
have avoided Alton businesses - Now is the time to begin to welcome them back.
ARBA is planning for the "Lets Meet On Alton" January 20 I 5 event. A month long shop local event
forAlton Road Businesses. Shop localtype campaigns are highly effective programs to promote
local business.
The goal of the "Let's Meet On Alton" event is to bring local Miami Beach residents back to Alton
Road and to increase foot trafflc.
ARBA is working with the City of Miami Beach and Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce for
to raise awareness thatAlton is OPEN for business.
ARBA is currently soliciting participation and support from Alton Road Businesses, Miami Beach
residents, homeowner associations, city government agencies, corporate and private sponsors.
Through combined efforts and participation,ARBA hopes to establish the "Lets Meet On Alton"
event as an annual local event.

Who is ARBA
Established in January 20 l4,The Alton Road Business Association is a non-profit organization of
business owners, landowners and residents who work to promote and protect the economic
viability of Alton Road, Miami Beach. ARBA members are united in the mission to better the
community and commerce surrounding Alton Road.
ARBA's recent efforts include an ongoing campaign to organize the businesses of Alton and
coordinate support from South Beach residents and local government. Establishing partnerships
with other "like minded" associations while consistently advocating the voice of Alton Road
Business have been the focus of our early work.

traffic will be allowed to resume normal north south flow. ln addition the sidewalks will be
