Lauderhill Overpass \ City of Lauderhill, FL \ Large scale shade structures provide shelter and protection and aim to reflect
the identity of the surrounding community in the vicinity of an imposing Florida Turnpike overpass. Funded by the Community

Easel Bench Project \ Miami, FL \ Extends the South Miami Middle Arts Magnet (SMK8) art studios into the adjacent
courtyard, in effect doubling the existing classroom space and egaging the outdoor environment. [Fabrication direction: Eric

Floralia: Parque de las Flores Botanical Garden \ Fusagasuga, Colombia This 16.5 acre site and former coffee plantation
is transformed into a research, ecotourism, and arts destination. [architecture by Lopez Jaimes Design Studio] June 2012-
The Sky Lounge at Deuxibme Maison \ Florida International University, Miami, FL \ The transformation of this austere concrete
courtyard makes use of 36 ft tall, planted stainless steel mesh structures, custom metal benches, and recycled glass aggregate paving.
Built. 2013.
The Joint Training Facility Lookout \ Seattle, WA \ Inspired by the shape of a leaf as the model for the site's drainage, this
project for the Seattle Joint Training Facility uses materials common to firefighters and utility personnel to create a cantilevering
steel structure. Funded by the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs. 2012-
Wadi Rum \ Wadi Rum, Jordan \ Carved into the sandstone cliffs near Petra, this 80,000sf project proposes the sensitive
handling of landscape features to minimize water usage and energy consumption while maximizing comfortable healthy living
and exposure to the natural beauty of the area. [architecture by Oppenheim Architecture and Design] 2010-11.
UAE Mixed Use Project \ Dubai, UAE The treatment of ground, roof decks and pool terraces sought an integrated design solu-
tion where shade structures, berms and materials complemented the angular nature of the architecture. 2009-2010.
Tamarac Public Art Master Plan \ Tamarac, FL \ Development of a comprehensive framework for the implementation of
the city's public arts program, policies and procedures. [with Bloom Arts Consulting]. 2009
Miami Sunspars \ Miami, FL \ Two solar-powered pedestrian bridges capable of transforming from vertical lookout towers
into a horizontal bridge between Museum Park and Watson Island. This 1st Place international competition win was devel-
oped into a winning Kauffman Foundation/Pino Entrepreneurship Center grant proposal. 2006
Oakland 1-880 Gateway \ Oakland, CA \ Responsible for the landscape architecture and other design components in this
award-winning design for an experiential pedestrian and vehicular gateway connecting the city's revitalized waterfront and
its downtown. Project featured in Small Scale by Keith Moskow and Robert Linn (Princeton Architectural Press: ISBN-13: 978-1-
56898-975-41. [with Jeff Burns, Peggy Chung, Nick Gomez, Steve Jones]. Built. 2005.
The Glass Hull \ Fairfield, CA \ This winning proposal for a public art competition at the Solano Government Center explores
the concepts of history, transparency, and balance by juxtaposing layers of the county's history and via its materials. 8ft x 20ft
x 22ft steel and glass. Sponsor: Solano County Department of General Services. Built. 2005.

MacAllister Estate \ Sonoma, CA \ This 300 acre property consisted of various vineyards, creeks and numerous existing
buildings & barns. The landscape concept developed a better sense of entry, as well as a unified landscape language that took
advantage of the site's expansive views and microclimates. Built. 2005.
Naughton Residence \ Vallejo, CA \ This single-family residence sought to complement a traditional architecture with a
more contemporary landscape through the use of materials, plantings, terracing and renewed relationships between outside
and inside. Built. 2003.
Whitaker Residence \ Mill Valley, CA \ The contemporary landscape for this single-family residence screened unwanted
views & utilities by introducing full-grown olive trees and bamboo, raised above ground in sculptural steel planters, as well
as a glass & steel screen. Scored concrete, grass cell, decomposed granite and ipe wood decks & gates defined areas of use
while maintaining visual continuity. Built. 2004.
Wilson Avenue Light Tower Project [WALT] \ Vallejo, CA \ Paralleling this important entrance into the city, the project
proposed a series of towering lookouts that projected onto the adjacent river's wetlands. Each tower was designed with a
tall, solar-powered, hollow mast that would be illuminated at night, and would provide a pedestrian destination to educate the
public about the neighboring wetlands and watershed. Commissioned by the City of Vallejo. Proposal. 2003-2005.
Bay St. Shellmound Park \ Emeryville, CA \ Commissioned to design a 14,000sf park honoring what used to be the most
substantial Native American shellmound in the Bay Area. The project proposed the substantial sculptural form of woven metal
arches delineating the volume of the original mound. [with Orantes Architectural Metals]. Unbuilt. 2002-2004.

landscape strategy establishes a layered palette of colors, materials, hardscape and furnishings to define public and private

Hudson Square \ New York, NY \ Lead Designer & Senior Landscape Architect \ Envisioning Hudson Square \ In this
community-driven charrette for a 30 block area on Manhattan's West Side, dramatic green roof ribbons and a floating salt
marsh were proposed to redefine the district's relationship to the Hudson River. 2007

The landscape design takes advantage of its location close to the water and the unique design of a building that incorporates

Al Mashtal Abu Dhabi, UAE \ Lead Designer & Senior Landscape Architect \ Structures, shapes and colors, adapted from the
unique context of a former nursery site and the demands of a desert climate, led to a proposal in which careful use of water
along with fruit, spice and shaded gardens would create a landscape palette to celebrate Arab heritage. 2007
Biscayne Landing \ North Miami, FL \ Lead Designer & Senior Landscape Architect \ This mixed-used development which
at the time was the largest LEED project in the southeastern US proposed grand topographic gestures to reclaim a former
landfill, using the structure of a mangrove as a design & form generator. 2006-2007

focused on developing the medium of the temporary installation know as the 'Guerrilla Garden' as a way of expressing the
potential of landscape architecture and architecture in various urban spaces. Built.
UNITED STATES NAVY \ USS Thach Yokosuka, Japan \ Lieutenant—Honorable Discharge \ Navy Achievement Medal 1990-1994
Responsible for the operation, maintenance and administration of the ship's electrical and auxiliary equipment divisions and CIC
operations center with divisions ranging from 12 to 24 people and over 60 as Assistant Chief Engineer. Also served as U. S. Navy
liaison officer on board the Chilean Tall Ship Esmeralda during a seven-month voyage in the Atlantic Ocean, spanning the coasts of North
America, Europe, Africa and South America.

Three 12 ft by 12 ft panels made of bronze mesh and framed with copper tubing, hung from trees at a prominent urban
intersection in the middle of winter. The panels were misted with water and subsequently froze into translucent 'webs'

The drainage patterns of a popular public lawn at Rhode Island School of Design were 'drawn' with over two thousand

Using several hundred pounds of birdseed, large concentric rings and patterns were made on the grounds of a public
park in Providence, RI. The disappearance of the patterns at the hands of birds, squirrels and people was subsequently

100 Christmas trees discarded in January were collected and 'transplanted' into a tight urban alley way, creating an
evergreen forest with a narrow path in between. The forest was subsequently moved to two distinct locations several

Using sidewalk chalk, 73 artists participated in creating a quarter mile long 'river' of text and illustrations that converged

Hundreds of broken tree branches were collected after a severe ice storm. These were arranged into arching upright

Hundreds of invasive shrubs were suspended with twine from the underside of two buildings' fire escapes. The inverted
