A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
ADMINISTRATION TO IDENTIFY FUNDING IN THE FY 2025 BUDGET FOR
THE INSTALLATION OF STONE CASTINGS ON THE ROUNDABOUT ON
100 LINCOLN ROAD BLOCK.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach ( the "City") is an international tourist destination
that attracts visitors from around the world year- round, which thereby significantly increases
the use and congestion on the City's bike paths, sidewalks, and pedestrian ways; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is committed to ensuring its sidewalks, roadways,
and pedestrian facilities remain safe, accessible, and unobstructed for all users; and
WHEREAS, there have been observed recurring gatherings of individuals and small
groups on the roundabout on 100 Lincoln Road block which pose safety hazards, impede
traffic and pedestrian flow, and detract from the intended public use of the right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the strategic installation of decorative stone castings—placed as bollards
or low-profile seating elements—has proven effective in comparable urban settings to
delineate pedestrian zones, deter lingering in critical areas, and enhance streetscape
aesthetics; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to authorize and direct the
Administration to identify funding in FY 2025 budget for the installation of stone castings on
the roundabout on 100 Lincoln Road block.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby
authorize and direct the Administration to identify funding in the FY 2025 budget for the
installation of stone castings on the roundabout on 100 Lincoln Road block.
