lnique Intematianal Appeal,Setting&Guiding Principles:
The Festival was founded on the principte of curating an enriching experience for the
artists, residents, students, and audience. GroundUP shatters the barriers between artsts
and audience/students. In a rypical festival, artists reman in their trailer until showtime
and then depart after their shaw, practically inaecessble to the students and attendees. At
GroundUP,artists remain for the entire festival and hang-aut with the audience to
experience the other peffarming artists and to partcipaten ntimate masterctasses and
other unlquely personat interactions with the audience. Moreover, many artists arnve
befQre the festval and offer mentorship experiences at partner venues for underserved

Miami Beach Hoiday Festrval of Ughts
On behalf of the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival(MMF), I am thrilled to submit our letter ofntent
for the Miami Beach Holfday Festival of Lights to be consfdered for funding through the City of Miami
Beach Specal Events Sponsorship Program. The Miami Beach Nolday Festival of Lights is an ambit►ous
and innovative family-friendly evenc that aims to transform an entire city block on Ocean Dnve into a
magcal hohday expenence of interactive poec6on displays, live muscal performances, and a handay
village
From December 10-14,2025, MMF will present three performances each day, featurng MMF's tafented
vocal and instrumental performers alongside beloved holiday charaders, inciuding Santa Claus, The
Gnnch, and Elsa. The five muscal performances span a diverse range of genres and honor worldwde
holiday traditions, allowing attendees to revel in theoyous sounds of the season.MMF's proections will
create an audovisual narratve where cues from live singers trlgger the holiday-themed video proections
on the buldings behfnd them
The Mam Beach Holiday Festval of Lights uses state-of-the-art projection mapping, a technologicai
innovation that overlaps video onto all surfaces, turning odinary objects - such as buildings into
interactive displays. Every surface becomes a canvas, wth graphic projections that play off the unique
archrtectural features of 5 consecutive buildings to create a delightful hght and music expenence Similar
to the Lyon Festrval of Lights,a moveable mage such as Santa Claus and their reindeer can fly from one
bulding to the next.

in twelve years, MMf has estabtished itseli as one of the fastest growing and most important ctassical

symphonic concerts, chamber music recitals, and masterclasses where our highly tatented students are
front and center.
tn lune 2Q22,MMF presented the worid's first fuify immenive opera producvonn a theater setUng using
state-of-the-art projettion mapping technology, immersing the audience within the scenes of the opera.
This production of Das Rhengoid marked the first time projeRion mapping was used for live opera, a
sigrnficant achievement for the idustry. MMf has delved into the technology's possi6ilities, creating
audiovisual concerts in different venues which have garnered immense praise and have sparked a strong
desire for more projettion activahons in the community.
in May 2023, MMF secured the G.O. Bond for the purchase of cutting edge proection mapping
equipment. The acquisiiion of top-of-the-line projection mapping equipment allowed MMf to create awe-
inspiring and immersive events at a fraction of the usual expense.Traditlonally, the costs associated with
renting such advanced equipment limit the accessibility of these extraordinary experiences. However,
with the support of the GO bond, MMF was able to bring these extravagant events to the Ciry of Miami
Beach at a much more affordable price
Dung MMF's 2023 and 2024 Seasons in July, MMF presented an mspiring trifecta of immersrve
performances each year: two full operas and one symphony. The response from attendees was
overwhelming, leading to sold-out venues and a palpabfe buzz that extended far beyond the confines of
the performance spates.Social media platforms were ablaZe wth excitement as attendees shared their
exhilarating experiences, spreading the ward like widfire.
In February 2023,MMF presented its first outdoar projecUon mapping concert at The Betsy Hotel, where
MMF designed Valentine-themed graphics to accentuate the building's architectural features, tming a
statit structure into a dynamic canvas for visuai art and storytelling. The projettions were combined with
live MMF singers helping the buiiding come alive with images that shift and change in time with the music.
After the immense success af this event,MMF presented the first Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights
in Oecember 2023.The performances took place throughout three weekends in three different locations:
licoln Road's Euctid Qval,The Gabriei South Beach Hotel, and The Betsy Hotel(and 4 adjacent buildingsj.
Each event drew over 3,000 attendees and solidified MMF's reputation as a driving force in redefining the
boundaries of live performance, leavmg audiences eagerfy anticpaUng the next groundbreaking

festive atmosphere and drawing an even larger crowd to celebrate the season in MfamBeach.
