Approval of New Prototype Bus Shelter
The purpose of this Letter to Commission ("L TC") is to inform the Mayor and City Commission
("City Commission") that the City Administration ("Administration") has approved the Prototype
Bus Shelter ("Prototype") as required under Agreement No. 2020-239-KB ("Agreement") between
the City of Miami Beach ("City") and Outfront Media Group LLC ("Outfront"). As described further
below, this approval authorizes Outfront to proceed with the phased installation of new bus
shelters throughout the City in accordance with the Agreement.
On May 12, 2025, Outfront installed the Prototype in the City's right-of-way on Indian Creek Drive
just south of 41 Street ( see photographs below). It is worth noting that the size of the Prototype
( 1 O' long x 7' wide) is smaller than the City's standard bus shelter size (20' long x 7' wide). Given
the new bus shelter design is comprised of modular segments (each 5' long and either 3' or 7'
wide), bus shelters can be configured in varying sizes to accommodate ridership demand as well
as available right-of-way/constrained sidewalk widths.
