A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
MEMORIALIZE THE VOTING POSITIONS OF CITY COMMISSIONERS
IN THE MINUTES OF CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS.
WHEREAS, the official acts of the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach (the City
Commission) are recorded in the minutes of each City Commission meeting for inspection by the
public; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4.04(a) of the City Charter, the City Clerk keeps the
official minutes of the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, presently, the minutes of City Commission meetings only reflect the outcome
and tally of votes taken on acts and motions of the City Commission and do not disclose the voting
position of each individual Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, disclosing each individual Commissioner's voting position on official acts and
motions at City Commission meetings would foster open and more transparent governance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, the City Clerk is directed to include each individual
Commissioner's voting position on official acts and motions in the minutes of all meetings of the
City Commission.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of September 2025.
