Resolution 2025-33939 RESOLUTION NO. 2025-33939
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE ADMINISTRATION
TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A ONE-YEAR PILOT PROGRAM FOR
A ONE-WAY VALET PARKING SERVICE AT THE MIAMI BEACH
BANDSHELL, UTILIZING PARKING LOT 106 AND SUCH OTHER
MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS AS THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL
DETERMINE FOR VEHICLE PARKING; SAID PROGRAM TO ALLOW
EVENT ATTENDEES TO DROP OFF VEHICLES AT THE BANDSHELL
ENTRANCE AND RETRIEVE THEIR VEHICLES FROM LOT 106 OR
OTHER DESIGNATED PARKING LOT AT THE END OF THE EVENT.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Bandshell is a historic and active cultural venue
located in the North Beach neighborhood, hosting a wide variety of concerts,
performances, and community events throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, the Bandshell's popularity has led to increased attendance and
corresponding demand for convenient and accessible parking options in the surrounding
area; and
WHEREAS, the lack of on-site parking and limited curbside space near the
Bandshell often results in traffic congestion, double parking, and frustration for eventgoers
and nearby residents; and
WHEREAS, a one-way valet parking program would allow attendees to drop off
their vehicles at the Bandshell entrance and retrieve them from Parking Lot 106 (or such
other conveniently located municipal parking lots as the Administration shall determine)
at the end of the event, thereby improving traffic flow and enhancing the overall visitor
experience; and
WHEREAS, Parking Lot 106, located within walking distance of the Bandshell,
offers underutilized parking capacity in the evenings that can be leveraged to support this
initiative without requiring new infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the proposed pilot program would serve as a test case to evaluate the
operational feasibility, public reception, and potential for broader application of similar
valet solutions in other areas of the City; and
WHEREAS, this model would reduce congestion at the drop-off point, improve
traffic flow, and make more efficient use of existing City-owned parking assets; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to implement a one-year pilot
program to evaluate the feasibility, effectiveness, and public reception of this one-way
valet service at the Miami Beach Bandshell.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the Administration to develop and implement a one-year pilot
program for a one-way valet parking service at the Miami Beach Bandshell, utilizing
