The Miami Beach Police Department case clearance rates stand well above the national clearance rate average. As reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program for 2023, the national homicide case clearance rate is 52.3% in comparison to 100% by the Miami Beach Department in both 2024 and year-to date in 2025. This strategic use of technology has been instrumental in detectives' sustained success and consistently higher-than-average clearance rates. With the recent integration of advanced technological and analytic resources within the Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), clearance rates are anticipated to continue rising, further enhancing the Department's investigative capabilities and responsiveness. These impressive clearance outcomes underscore the effectiveness of a proactive policing model and the unwavering dedication of the men and women of the MBPD. The data also highlights the importance of strong collaboration with elected officials, community partners, and the continued investment in cutting-edge technology that empowers our Detectives to identify suspects, locate vehicles, and bring criminal offenders to justice.
