SUBJECT: Parks & Recreational Facilities Advisory Board Motions
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to inform the Mayor and Commission of the motion
passed by the Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board at its meeting on September 25, 2025.
MOTION# 1:
The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board recommends prohibiting electrical and motorized
vehicles on the Flamingo Park track at all times.

Motion passes: Unanimously (11-0)

The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board supports the Muscle Beach at Altos De Mar
initiatives.

The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board requests that the City Manager require at least one
sitting member of the Board to be included on any RFP evaluation committee for Parks and Recreational
activities.
The Board further requests that any draft RFP concerning Parks and Recreation be sent to the Board for
review and input prior to being presented to the Commission for approval.

The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board opposes the proposed location of rooftop paddle
courts at the G5 parking garage.The Board believes this is not an appropriate location at this time due to a
number of myriad complex issues the City has not yet considered.Of particular concern is the upcoming
construction of the new Convention Center Hotel.
