LTC 460-2025 Update Small Business Grant Program460-2025 M IAMI BEACH OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER LTC# TO : FROM: DATE: LETTER TO COMMISSION Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission Eric Carpenter, City Manager ?jz~ C,1,::~~ I November 3, 2025 SUBJECT: Update Small Business Grant Program The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to update you on the successful development and execution of the City of Miami Beach Small Business Grant Program, a 2025 initiative developed to strengthen the city's small business ecosystem. Recognizing the vital role small businesses play in sustaining the local economy and defining the character of Miami Beach neighborhoods, the Economic Development Department, with $100,000 in funding, created the Small Business Grant Program (the "Program"). Pursuant to Reso # 2024- 33179, the Program provides direct financial ass istance to qualified, locally owned enterprises. Each grant award provides up to $5,000 in funding to eligible businesses that have operated, in good standing, in the City of Miami Beach for at least two (2) years . The grant funds may be used for operating costs, capital improvements, marketing, and/or other expenses that promote recovery, stability, and growth. The Program reinforces the city's commitment to foster a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive economy that supports both entrepreneurs and the community. Twenty (20) small businesses were selected from a diverse pool of applicants representing a broad range of industries, from retail and hospitality to professional services and social assistance. Stubborn Seed Redhead Ice 11. Habitat Hyett 12 . IGM Day Spa 13. Liliana Montoya Swim 14. My Smoothie Shop 15 . Perfection Travel 16. URock Couture 17. Burger & Philly 18 . Sky Nails & Spa of South Beach 19. Stiltsville Fish Bar 20 .
