LTC 462-2025 Motion from the Disability Access Committee to purchase commemorative bricks to support beach access through the Sabrina Cohen FoundationMIAMI BEACH OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER LTC #462-2025 LETTER TO COMMISSION TO: FROM: Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission Rafael Granado, City Clerk � A DATE: SUBJECT: November 3rd, 2025 ( 2S{ Motion from the Disability Access Committee to purchase commemorative bricks to support beach access through the Sabrina Cohen Foundation The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide you with the motion made during the October 21, 2025, Disability Access Committee (DAC) meeting: Motion: The DAC members request that the City purchase bricks to support the fundraising efforts of the Sabrina Cohen Foundation Path of Inclusion to the Adaptive Recreation Center at 5301 Collins Avenue on behalf of the DAC. Motion made by: Zaymar Vargas Seconded by: Allison Slakman Members Carlos Zevallos, Kristen Greene, Dries Darrow, Eufemia Plimpton, approve 6-0 vote. The Oceanside Adaptive Park project and the Adaptive Beach Days program by the Sabrina Cohen Foundation have been frequently discussed at DAC meetings, with several current and past members participating or volunteering. The City has been a long-time partner of these initiatives. The DAC would like to be part of this historic project, which they have seen evolve and supported over the years. There are two types of bricks available: 4"x8" at a cost of $500 and 8"x8" at a cost of $1000. The DAC is requesting that the City purchase a minimum of five bricks of both sizes, using ADA funds from the Miami Dade County Parking Reimbursement program. The bricks would have "Miami Beach Disability Access Committee" or similar language engraved on them, subject to discussion and final approval by the DAC and the City.
