Miami Beach Sister Cities Committee Motions
The purpose of this Letter to Commission ("LTC")is to inform the Mayor and City Commission
of motions made,and unanimously approved,by the Sister Cities Committee on November 17,
2025.
Members present on November 17,2025,include Mani Cohen,Allison Buttacavoli,Shari
Lombardi,Janinha Piazzetta,Fred Bean,and Jared Plitt.(Virtual:Blanca Villarello)
Motion #1:The Sister Cities Committee recommends sending Sandra Schoen lank-Arian to
Sister City Fujisawa,Japan to support the City of Miami Beach Sister Cities Committee
delegation during the Shanan Fujisawa City Marathon on January 25,2026.
Motion #2:The Sister Cities Committee recommends the approval of a budget to support a
three member delegation to Sister City Fujisawa,Japan,in an amount not to exceed $6,000 to
represent Miami Beach and participate in the Shanan Fujisawa City Marathon on January 25,
2025.
Motion #3:The Sister Cities Committee recommends the approval of a Survey Monkey
subscription,in an amount not to exceed $99 to support event logistics for the Art of Diplomacy
event on December 2,2025,in partnership with the General Consulate of Switzerland in
Atlanta.
