SUBJECT:Ad Hoc Nightlife Industry Task Force Advisory Committee Motion
This Letter to the Commission ("LTC")provides an update on motions passed at the December
18,2025 meeting of the Ad Hoc Nightlife Taskforce Advisory Committee (the "Committee").
Members Present:
•Steve Polisar,Chair
•Edison Farrow
•Joel Stedman
•Lea Stevenson
•David Wallack
Motion:Spring Break Planning 2026
The Committee,after reviewing the Administration's December 12,2025 March
2026 Planning memorandum,recommends the following to the Mayor and
Commissioners:
1.Continue and/or implement the following:
o a Police Department action plan that focuses on keeping the
community civil instead of closing community streets and
businesses;
o License Plate Readers;
o enhanced Police Department presence,including directing traffic
during peak days and hours;
o activate checkpoints;and
o leverage and attract audiences/visitors attending major concerts
(e.g.Lady Gaga,etc.)and large festivals (e.g.Ultra et.al.)in
Greater Miami.
2.Discontinue and/or avoid:
o restrictive parking policies;
o utilizations of barricades;
o implementation of traffic loops;
o issuing $100 parking fines/fees;and
o doubling towing fees.
