A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO
CONDUCT QUARTERLY BLOCK -BY -BLOCK CODE ENFORCEMENT
SWEEPS FROM 87TH STREET TO 63RD STREET, FROM THE BEACH TO THE
BAY, AND TO ESTABLISH A COMPLIANCE BENCHMARK FOR ONGOING
IMPROVEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is committed to enhancing the quality of life, public
safety, and visual integrity of all neighborhoods within the City; and
WHEREAS, the corridor spanning from 87th Street to 63rd Street, from the beach to the
bay, represents a diverse and high -traffic area that requires consistent and proactive attention to
Code compliance and environmental maintenance; and
WHEREAS, quarterly, block -by -block Code compliance and clean-up initiatives will allow
the City to systematically identify and address violations and maintenance needs related to
property upkeep, signage, waste management, and public safety; and
WHEREAS, the results of these initiatives will serve as a baseline benchmark for
neighborhood standards, enabling the City to measure progress, allocate resources effectively,
and engage the community in long-term improvement efforts;
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to direct the City Administration to
implement a quarterly code compliance and clean-up initiative covering the area from 87th Street
to 63rd Street, from the beach to the bay; and
WHEREAS, these sweeps shall be conducted block by block, with the goal of identifying
and remediating all code violations and environmental concerns, including but not limited to
property maintenance, signage, illegal dumping, and public safety hazards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the City Administration to conduct quarterly block -by -block Code
compliance and clean-up initiatives from 87th street to 63rd Street, from the beach tot the bay,
and to establish a compliance benchmark for ongoing improvement.
