SUBJECT: Art Week 2025 Multimodal Transportation Services -Post-Event Summary
The purpose of this Letter to Commission {L TC) is to provide the Mayor and City Commission
with a post-event summary of the enhanced multimodal transportation services provided by the
City (at no cost to passengers) during Art Week 2025 to support increased visitor demand,
reduce vehicular congestion, and improve mobility between major venues. I am pleased to
report that over 59,000 passengers used the City's Art Week multimodal transportation services
offered from Monday, December 1 through Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The enhanced multimodal transportation program (developed, funded, and deployed solely by the City) consisted of the following routes/services converging at a centralized transfer location
on the west side of Convention Center Drive adjacent to City Hall: •
•
•
•
•
Up to eight (8) water taxi vessels operated across Biscayne Bay connecting Maurice Gibb
Memorial Park in Sunset Harbour and the Venetian Marina in Downtown Miami (each
vessel with a capacity of 55 passengers);
A water taxi connector shuttle service transported passengers to/from Maurice Gibb
Memorial Park and the transfer hub at Convention Center Drive (utilizing five (5) Gillig buses, each with a capacity of 40+ passengers);
Two (2) interconnected shuttle services connected key art fairs and parking garages in South Beach and Mid-Beach (utilizing eight (8) Mercedes Benz Sprinter Vans, each with
a capacity of approximately 12 passengers);
A cross-bay shuttle service connected the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Miami Design District (utilizing four (4) StarCraft Vans operating along the dedicated bus lanes on the inside shoulders of the Julia Tuttle Causeway); and
Enhanced wayfinding signage installed at key locations (pick-up/drop-off/transfer points)
to improve the user experience and facilitate transfers between the various
routes/services.
Attached are photos of the water taxi, shuttles, and wayfinding signage deployed during Art Week
2025.
In addition, the City extended the hours of operation of the citywide trolley service until midnight
from Wednesday, December 3 through Saturday, December 6, and deployed additional vehicles during peak periods, including four ( 4) additional trolley vehicles assigned to the South Beach
