DATE: January 26, 2026 8E5992E...
SUBJECT: Grand Hyatt Miami Beach (Convention Center Hotel) —Traffic Pattern Impact
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission ("LTC") is to provide notice of the temporary closure of
17th Street, in connection with construction activities for the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach (Convention
Center Hotel).
To maintain construction progress, the developer's contractor must increase the height of the tower
crane located at the southeast end of the project site. This operation involves lifting the crane's upper
structure and inserting new mast sections. Due to the nature of this work, a controlled environment free
of vehicular and pedestrian traffic is required to ensure public safety.
To safely perform this operation, a one-day full closure of 17th Street between Convention Center
Drive and Washington Avenue is required on January 28, from 5:00am and 7:00pm. In the event of
inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, the operation will be rescheduled for the following
day.
