Free Tax Preparation Services provided by the Office of Housing and
Community Services -February 10-April 15, 2026
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to advise that the City is partnering with
Branches, Inc. and the Internal Revenue Service via the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
program to offer free tax preparation services for residents and City of Miami Beach employees who earn $60,000 or less.
Tax preparation services are being offered by appointment only from February 10, 2026 -April
15, 2026, at the Office of Housing and Community Services located at 765 17 Street. Information about the VITA program is attached in English and Spanish.
Miami Beach residents and City employees who would like tax preparation services should schedule their appointments by using this link: https://calendly.com/cmbvitataxes/appointments,
scanning the QR code on the attached flyer, or by calling the Office of Housing and Community
Services at 305.673.7491 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and 1 :00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Tax preparation services will be offered as follows: •Tuesdays and Thursdays (In-person) -Between 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and 1 :30 p.m. -3:30 p.m.
Residents and employees are required to bring the following documents to their appointment:
•Valid government-issued identification card•Social Security card for all persons declared as dependents in the tax return
•All 2025 W-2s and information for other income•Information for all deductions (including charitable contributions)
•Bank account information for direct deposit of refund•Forms 1095-A, B, or C (ACA Statements)
•Total paid to daycare providers and their tax ID number•Copy of last year's tax return•Identity theft PIN (if applicable)•Birth dates for all members of the household, including dependents
Last year,more than 360 households benefited from the free tax preparation service,resulting in
approximately $350,000 in refunds.
