HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-34085RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34085 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE LIGHTING OF THE EXTERIOR OF CITY HALL IN ORANGE FOR A SEVEN-DAY PERIOD DURING MARCH 2026, IN RECOGNITION OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AWARENESS MONTH. WHEREAS, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and often disabling disease of the central nervous system that affects thousands of individuals and families across the nation; and WHEREAS, March is recognized nationally as Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to raise awareness, support research, and honor those living with MS; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach wishes to demonstrate its commitment to public health awareness and solidarity with individuals affected by MS by lighting the exterior of City Hall in orange during this observance; and WHEREAS, the proposed lighting will occur for a seven-day period during March 2026, symbolizing the City's support for MS awareness and advocacy efforts. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the lighting of the exterior of City Hall in orange for a seven-day period during March 2026, in recognition of Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month.
