A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION
TO INCLUDE A SENIOR RESOURCE FAIR ELEMENT IN ALL MAJOR
SENIOR EVENTS INSIDE THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER
PRODUCED AND/OR SPONSORED BY THE CITY, TO PROVIDE
PARKING, HOUSING, AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE, AND
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES SO THAT ATTENDEES CAN
OBTAIN INFORMATION IN A FACE-TO-FACE CONTEXT WITH CITY
DEPARTMENTS SERVING SENIORS, ALL IN ONE LOCATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is committed to supporting its senior residents by
providing access to resources and services that enhance quality of life; and
WHEREAS, major senior events inside the Miami Beach Convention Center produced
and/or sponsored by the City present an opportunity to connect seniors directly with City
departments and programs in a convenient, accessible setting; and
WHEREAS, including a Senior Resource Fair element at these events will allow attendees
to obtain information on critical topics such as parking, housing, affordable housing programs,
and customer service, all in one location; and
WHEREAS, this initiative will promote engagement, improve awareness of available
resources, and strengthen the City's commitment to serving its senior population.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the
City Administration to include a Senior Resource Fair element in all major senior events inside
the Miami Beach Convention Center produced and/or sponsored by the City, to provide parking,
housing, affordable housing committee, and customer service representatives so that attendees
can obtain information in a face-to-face context with City departments serving seniors, all in one
location.
