RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE GALERIA EXHIBITION: MB
OCEAN RESCUE 100 YEARS, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF
FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $45,000 FOR THE INSTALLATION,
PROGRAMMING, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE EXHIBITION.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach's outdoor gallery at Lummus Park, known as Galeria,
serves as a cultural platform to promote Miami Beach's heritage, identity, and brand; and
WHEREAS, Galeria exhibitions have successfully attracted visitors and residents, with
recent exhibitions such as 100 Years of Art Deco and Boot Camp in Paradise: WWII in Miami
Beach drawing over 200,000 attendees and generating significant engagement through social
media activations; and
WHEREAS, the proposed exhibition, MB Ocean Rescue 100 Years, will commemorate
the centennial of one of the City's most iconic departments, Miami Beach Ocean Rescue, which
has played a vital role in ensuring public safety and enhancing the beach experience for residents
and visitors alike; and
WHEREAS, the exhibition will feature 39 large -format displays, a centerpiece installation
with flags and thematic modifications, three social media activations, and complementary
elements such as flags and windsocks to create a visually impactful experience; and
WHEREAS, the exhibition will highlight the beauty of the City's beaches, ocean, and
lifestyle, reinforcing the City's reputation as one of the world's most desirable destinations; and
WHEREAS, the program will include two outdoor events at Galeria and provide ongoing
exhibition and installation maintenance to ensure quality and visitor engagement throughout its
duration; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the total cost for the exhibition, including printing,
installation, social media activations, and maintenance will not exceed $45,000;
WHEREAS, funding for the MB Ocean Rescue 100 Years exhibition will be provided
through an already approved budget enhancement allocation from the FY 2026 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLBED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approves the Galeria Exhibition: MB Ocean Rescue 100 Years and
authorizes the expenditure of funds in an amount not to exceed $45,000 for the installation,
programming, and maintenance of the exhibition.
