A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL AN APPROPRIATE
PEDESTAL FOR THE HISTORIC PLAQUE AT THE MIAMI BEACH
BANDSHELL, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($5,000); AND FURTHER DIRECTING THE
ADMINISTRATION TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2026 BUDGET, AS
NECESSARY, TO FUND THE INSTALLATION.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Bandshell is a historically significant landmark that
serves as a cultural and community gathering space; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to ensure that the historic plaque
commemorating the Bandshell is properly displayed in a manner befitting its importance;
and
WHEREAS, the installation of an appropriate pedestal will enhance the visibility
and preservation of the plaque for residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the pedestal purchase and installation shall not exceed
Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to amend the Fiscal Year 2026 budget,
as needed, to allocate funds for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the City Administration to purchase and install an appropriate
pedestal for the historic plaque at the Miami Beach Bandshell, in an amount not to exceed
Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000); and further directing the Administration to amend the
fiscal year 2026 budget, as necessary, to fund the installation.
