HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-34101RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34101 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO CONDUCT A SURVEY OF ADA PARKING SPACES IN CITY OWNED PARKING FACILITIES TO DOCUMENT THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE NUMBER OF SUCH PARKING SPACES, THEIR LOCATION, AND THAT THEY MEET ALL LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND THE NEEDS OF CITY RESIDENTS, AND TO REPORT THE RESULTS BY LETTER TO COMMISSION (LTC) WITHIN 90 DAYS. WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) establishes requirements for accessible parking spaces to ensure equitable access for individuals with disabilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is committed to compliance with all applicable laws and to meeting the needs of its residents by providing sufficient ADA-compliant parking spaces in City owned parking facilities; and WHEREAS, a comprehensive survey of ADA parking spaces is necessary to confirm that the number and location of such spaces are adequate and that they meet all legal requirements and community needs; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires that the City Administration conduct this survey and report its findings in a timely manner. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the City Administration to conduct a survey of ADA parking spaces in City owned parking facilities to document the sufficiency of the number of such parking spaces, their location, and that they meet all legal requirements and the needs of City residents, and to report the results by Letter to Commission (LTC) within 90 days.
