A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ADDITION OF THE PRADA X
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SEA BEYOND LOW -IMPACT ACTIVATION TO THE
MARCH EVENTS CALENDAR.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach continues to advance policies and programming that
elevate the City's global reputation as a center for culture, sustainability, environmental
stewardship, and responsible tourism; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has prioritized the diversification of March programming
to promote positive, values -driven activations that reinforce Miami Beach's identity beyond historic
Spring Break -related stigmas; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Prada & National Geographic Sea Beyond Low -Impact
Activation is a collaborative initiative between Prada and National Geographic, centered on ocean
conservation, environmental education, and global sustainability, taking place from March 28-29,
2026; and
WHEREAS, this activation would include a temporary, low -impact takeover of an iconic
Miami Beach landmark or architectural structure, such as a historic Miami Beach lifeguard tower,
inviting the general public to engage with the Prada Re -Nylon campaign; and
WHEREAS, this is a global, elevated brand partnership with which the City of Miami Beach
has natural synergies, and which would mutually benefit from collaboration, while further
supporting the City's ongoing efforts to shift March programming away from outdated Spring
Break perceptions and toward thoughtful, high -impact cultural and environmental initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the proposed activation aligns with the City's values, sustainability goals, and
commitment to hosting responsible, world -class events that enhance the quality of life for
residents while engaging visitors in meaningful experiences.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission
hereby approve the addition of the Prada x National Geographic Sea Beyond Low -Impact
Activation to the March events calendar.
