A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, TO ACCEPT
A DONATION OF SIX (6) ELECTRIC RECON
INTERCEPTOR POLICE POWER BIKES FROM THE
ANDRES ASION FOUNDATION, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE
MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT AS PART OF ITS
OPERATIONS AND TRAINING INITIATIVES.
WHEREAS, the Andres Asion Foundation, a nonprofit organization, has notified the Miami Beach
Police Department of his willingness and intent to donate six (6) electric RECON Interceptor Police Power
Bikes; and
WHEREAS, RECON Police Power Bikes supplies equipment to approximately 800 law enforcement
agencies, 30 U.S. federal agencies, four branches of the military, and more than 80 universities nationwide;
and
WHEREAS, following discussions with RECON Police Power Bikes, the Miami Beach Police
Department evaluated the necessary training and operational requirements to effectively utilize this donation
and determined that the Miami Beach Police Department's Training Unit is qualified and appropriately staffed
to facilitate the process; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Police Department bicycle specialists visited the Hollywood Police
Department to inspect the RECON 2025 Interceptor Model and assess its operational suitability; and
WHEREAS, no funds are required from the City of Miami Beach to accept this donation; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Police Department will be responsible for any future maintenance,
equipment, and operational costs associated with the donated equipment; and
WHEREAS, this generous contribution reflects the donor's appreciation and support of the Miami
Beach Police Department's service to the community; and
WHEREAS, the proposed donation of six (6) electric RECON Interceptor Police Power Bikes will
benefit the Miami Beach Police Department and the community at large.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby authorize the City of
Miami Beach to accept a donation of six (6) electric RECON Interceptor Police Power Bikes from the Andres
Asion Foundation, to be utilized by the Miami Beach Police Department as part of its operations and training
initiatives.

TITLE: A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, TO

RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends accepting the donation of six (6) electric RECON Interceptor
Police Power Bikes for the benefit of the Miami Beach Police Department.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
In December 2025, Mr. Andres Asion expressed his willingness to donate six (6) electric RECON
Interceptor Police Power Bikes to the Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD). Following his
generous initiative, the Department led discussions with RECON Police Power Bikes to evaluate
the necessary training and operational requirements to effectively utilize this donation and
determined that the MBPD's Training Unit was qualified and appropriately staffed to facilitate the
process.
ANALYSIS
The proposed donation of six (6) electric RECON Interceptor Police Power Bikes will benefit the
Miami Beach Police Department and the community at large.

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT
No immediate fiscal impact has been identified.
CONCLUSION
The Administration encourages the City Commission to consider the Resolution and accept the
donation of six (6) electric RECON Interceptor Police Power Bikes for the benefit of the Miami
Beach Police Department and the Miami Beach community.
