SUBJECT: Miami Beach Homestead Relief Program
The purpose of this L TC is to advise the City Commission regarding the status of the Miami Beach Homestead Relief Program ("Program").
The Program is intended to provide financial relief to homesteaded property owners who are permanent residents of the City of Miami Beach. All qualified homesteaded parcels
as of January 2, 2025, listed in the tax roll provided by the Miami-Dade Property
Appraiser's Office on October 6, 2025 would be eligible for the Program. The 14,095
homesteaded parcels (which exclude 11 parcels noted as vacant land and vacant extra features other than parking) will receive a one-time payment in the amount of $500.
There is no need for any registering for the program or documentation to be provided as payments will be made via check to the registered homesteaded properties as provided
by the Miami-Dade Property Appraiser's Office.
Check processing began on Friday February 6, 2026, and is expected to be completed within 2-3 weeks. Checks will be mailed in batches starting this week.
