Miami Beach Police Announce the Arrest of Jack Doherty
— Social media influencer taken into custody on multiple charges —
MIAMI BEACH, FL – This morning, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Miami Beach police officers
arrested Jack C. Doherty, 22, on multiple charges, including Resisting an Officer Without
Violence and Possession of Amphetamine.
While conducting a high-visibility enforcement detail in the 700 block of Washington Avenue,
within the Entertainment District, officers observed a group of individuals entering the roadway.
One individual, later identified as Doherty, separated from the group and deliberately positioned
himself in the middle of the roadway to record video content—obstructing traffic and creating a
significant safety hazard for motorists and himself.
Officers attempted to educate Doherty and issued multiple lawful commands directing him to
exit the roadway. Despite repeated warnings that failure to comply would result in arrest,
Doherty continued to disregard officers’ commands in a nonchalant manner while recording,
stating, “Once I’m done with this bet!”
Following his refusal to comply and his continued presence in a hazardous area, Doherty was
taken into custody without incident. A search incident to arrest revealed half of an orange,
oval-shaped pill marked “3,” consistent with a Schedule II amphetamine, and a black
plastic container containing three hand-rolled suspected cannabis cigarettes.
The Miami Beach Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining public
safety and order throughout the city—regardless of celebrity status. The Department will
continue to take proactive enforcement action against behavior that endangers residents,
visitors, or officers and will hold all individuals accountable under the law.
