2026 Shadowing Week in recognition of Women's History Month
The purpose of this LTC is to introduce Shadowing Week as part of item C7S,approved at the
February 25,2026 Commission meeting,a new initiative in honor of Women's History Month.
During public school Spring Break,the city will host Miami Beach resident young women currently
enrolled in 12"grade at public,private,and charter schools.Participants will shadow senior women
leaders at various meetings and events for a single day between March 23-27,from 9:00 a.m.to3:00 p.m.
Through this initiative,Miami Beach student residents will gain an empowering perspective on local
government by observing strategic meetings and daily operations.The program is designed to
help young women connect with City leaders and discover viable pathways to leadership.
Young women in the 12"grade currently enrolled in high school may register for participation via
the QR Code below,provided they attach the required waiver signed by a parent or guardian.Staff
from the Education and Performance Initiatives Division will pair students with women leaders
across the city for a day of learning.

WAIVER AND RELEASE
In consideration for being accepted as a participant in the City of Miami Beach

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
I understand that participation in this program is voluntary and involves inherent
risks,including physical injury,property damage,or death.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I knowingly and freely assume all risks associated with participation,including
transportation to and from the program.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I release and forever discharge the City of Miami Beach,its agents,staff,elected
and appointed officials,employees,representatives,successors,and assigns
from any and all claims,demands,or causes of action arising out of or related to
participation in this program,including claims based on negligence.
SCOPE OF RELEASE
This release applies to injuries,damages,or losses occurring during participation,
observation,transportation,or any activity related to the program.
SEVERABILITY
If any part of this agreement is found invalid,the remaining provisions shall
continue in full force and effect.

PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE
I authorize the City of Miami Beach and its representatives to take photographs
or recordings of me (or the minor participant)and to use these images for official
purposes without compensation or prior approval.
