Update on 2026 FIFA Host Committee Miami Beach Activations
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to provide an update on the 2026 FIFA
Host Committee proposed activations in Miami Beach.
Miami-Dade County is set to host seven (7) matches for the FIFA World Cup at Hard Rock
Stadium, in Miami Gardens. This Includes four group stage games, one round of 32
match, a quarterfinal, and the bronze third-place final. All events are scheduled
between June 15 and July 18, 2026. Miami is one of 16 host cities across the US, Mexico,
and Canada.
On July 23, 2025, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2025-33847
approving a sponsorship agreement with the FIFA Host Committee and a zone of
exclusivity. As part of the agreement, the Host Committee would host activations in Miami
Beach.
As of February 19, 2026, the FIFA Host Committee has provided the following update:
•The proposed beachfront concert and watch party in Lummus Park beachfront is
tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2026. The talent has not been confirmed yet.
•Two (2) confirmed watch party events in North Beach behind the Miami Beach
Bandshell in the "Sandbowl" area in partnership with the Rhythm Foundation on
July 18 and July 19, 2026.
Additionally, the Administration is in communication with the FIFA Host Committee for any
proposed activations in the clean zone, including proposals by the Lincoln Road Business
Improvement District that are pending FIFA approvals.
On January 20, 2026, the Administration initiated planning meetings with Tourism and
Culture, Police, Fire, and DEM departments, along with the FIFA Host Committee and the
Rhythm Foundation in preparation for the June and July proposed activations.
The Administration will provide additional updates as available.
