A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM MR. RICHARD WOOD, IN
THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $10,742.22, FOR LANDSCAPE
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE NORMANDY SHORES GOLF CLUB; AND
FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPORPRIATE
SUCH DONATED FUNDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF
THE DONOR'S GIFT AS SPECIFIED IN THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach ("City") owns the Normandy Shores Golf Club ("Golf
Club"), located at 2401 Biarritz Drive; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Wood has requested to donate funds to enhance the landscaping
at the 11th hole of the Golf Club by installing twelve sabal palm trees to the existing landscaping
around the 11th hole of the golf course; and
WHEREAS, Professional Course Management, which oversees the management and
operations of the Golf Club, was instrumental in selecting the new trees' location; and
WHEREAS, the landscaping project cost is $10,742.22, inclusive of the twelve trees,
materials, and labor, with Mr. Richard Wood donating all funds therefor; and
WHEREAS, this donation aligns with the City's goals of enhancing public spaces through
public -private partnerships, and the proposed landscape improvements will elevate the quality of
the greenspace while preserving public access to the golf course.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve and authorize the acceptance of the donation from Mr. Richard
Wood, in the total amount of $10,742.22, for landscape improvements to the Normandy Shores
Golf Club; and further, authorize the City Manager to appropriate such donated funds in
accordance with the terms of the Donor's gift as specified in this Resolution.

RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission formally accept the
donation from Mr. Richard Wood for landscape improvements at the City -owned Normandy
Shores Golf Club located at 2401 Biarritz Drive, and authorize the City Manager to execute the
associated donation agreement. ensuring the terms are clearly memorialized.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Mr Richard Wood has requested to donate funds to enhance the landscaping at the 11th hole of
the Normandy Shores Golf Club. This enhancement will add 12 Sable Palm trees to the existing
landscape around the 11th hole The team from Professional Course Management (the
Contractors overseeing the management and operations of the Golf Club), were instrumental in
selecting the new tree's location.
ANALYSIS
This donation will add trees to the 1 1th hole at the Normandy Shores Golf Club. The Department
of Parks, Facilities, Fleet and Beaches worked closely with Professional Course Management to
provide the locations where the trees will be planted. The project cost is $10,742.22 that includes
12 Sable Palm Trees, materials, and labor. All costs will be covered by Mr Richard Wood. (Exhibit
A)
This donation aligns with the City's goals of enhancing public spaces through public -private
partnerships. The proposed landscape improvements plan will elevate the quality of the
greenspace while preserving public access.

The Department of Parks, Facilities, Fleet and Beaches recommends that the Mayor and City
Commission approve and authorize the acceptance of the donation from Mr. Richard Wood in the

further authorizing the City Manager to appropriate such donated funds in accordance with the
terms of the donor's gift as specified in the Resolution.
