SUBJECT Parks & Recreational Facilities Advisory Board Motions

The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to inform the Mayor and Commission of the motion
passed by the Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board at its meeting on February 24, 2026
MOTION # 1: Selection of Chair and Vice Chair of 2026
The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board motions to appoint Gayle Durham as the
Chair, Donald Goldberg as the Vice-Chair.

MOTION# 2:
The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board recommends not adding pickleball lines to
the Bayshore Tennis Courts at this time, noting that the Miami Beach Senior High School Tennis
Team utilizes the courts and that the addition of pickleball lines could create distractions and
negative impacts practices, matches, and tournaments of student-athletes.

The Parks and Recreational Facilities Advisory Board recommends that staff evaluate the
feasibility of installing bathrooms or alternative restroom options at Canopy Park and Fisher Park
playgrounds,similar to those implemented at Polo Park and SoundScape Park.
