A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO ERECT A FLAGPOLE TO DISPLAY THE AMERICAN
FLAG AT THE NORMANDY FOUNTAIN LOCATED IN THE NORTH BEACH
AREA OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $5,000
AND TO IDENTIFY APPROPRIATE FUNDING SOURCES.
WHEREAS, the Normandy Fountain serves as a prominent public space in the North
Beach area of the City of Miami Beach, and is a focal point for community gatherings and civic
pride;and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to enhance the civic symbolism of the
Normandy Fountain by erecting a flagpole to display the American flag; and
WHEREAS, the display of the American flag at this location will serve as a visible
representation of national unity and respect for democratic values; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission direct the City Administration to proceed with
the procurement and installation of a flagpole and an American flag at a cost not to exceed $5,000
and identify appropriate funding sources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby authorize
and direct the City Administration to erect a flagpole to display the American flag at the Normandy
Fountain located in the North Beach area of the City of Miami Beach at a cost not to exceed
$5,000 and to identify appropriate funding sources.
