A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING MIAMI BEACH PRIDE'S
REQUEST TO WAIVE CITY FEES IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF
$3,456.00 FOR THE USE OF PRIDE PARK ON APRIL 4, 2026, IN
SUPPORT OF MIAMI BEACH PRIDE'S FAMILY PICNIC EVENT.
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Pride brings people together to recognize and celebrate
members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer ("LGBTQ") community, as well as
their friends, allies, and supporters in celebration of diversity and inclusion; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Pride celebrates Miami -Dade County's LGBTQ community and
continues to draw large crowds, with past festivals attracting over 140,000 attendees; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Pride 2026 will feature a series of events from March 29 through
April 5, 2026, including the Family Picnic scheduled for April 4, 2026, at Pride Park, offering family -
friendly activities, entertainment, and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, the cost of permitting Pride Park for the Family Picnic is approximately
$3,456.00 (which includes $2322.00 square footage fee, $448.00 restroom porter fee, $343.00
permit fee, and $343.00 application fee), and Miami Beach Pride has requested that the City
waive these fees to support this community event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby grant Miami Beach Pride's request to waive City fees in the approximate
amount of $3,456.00 for the use of Pride Park on April 4, 2026, in support of Miami Beach Pride's
Family Picnic Event.
