HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-34198RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34198 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING MODEL VOLLEYBALL'S REQUEST TO WAIVE CITY FEES, UP TO AND INCLUDING $25,000, FOR THE USE OF LUMMUS PARK ON APRIL 18- 19, 2026, IN SUPPORT OF THE MODEL VOLLEYBALL EVENT. WHEREAS, Model Volleyball is a premier annual event that brings together top modeling agencies and their talent for a competitive beach volleyball tournament, attracting thousands of spectators and promoting Miami Beach as a global destination for sports and entertainment; and WHEREAS, the event has grown significantly since its inception, drawing large crowds and generating positive media coverage that benefits the City's tourism and hospitality sectors; and WHEREAS, Model Volleyball 2026 is scheduled to take place on April 18-19, 2026, at Lummus Park, featuring teams from leading modeling agencies, live entertainment, and community engagement activities; and WHEREAS, the cost of City fees for the event is currently being calculated, and Model Volleyball has requested that the City waive its fees to support this high -profile event. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby grant Model Volleyball's request to waive City fees, up to and including $25,000, for the use of Lummus Park on April 18-19, 2026, in support of the Model Volleyball Event.
