Among the notable events scheduled for this year is the fourth annual Miami Beach Turtle Fest, a signature family-friendly celebration organized by the Environment and Sustainability Department. Turtle Fest will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 3 pm to 6 pm at Altos Del Mar Park on 76 Street and Collins Avenue. Additionally, the Arbor Day Ceremony and Tree Giveaway will be celebrated Friday, April 17, from 1 O am to 12 pm at the North Beach Compost Hub, located at 85 Street and Collins Avenue. This initiative underscores our ongoing commitment to urban forestry and environmental stewardship. The following details will be shared widely through our communication channels: •Wednesday, April 1 -Saturday, October 31-Sea Turtle Season Sea turtle nesting season is right around the corner! As we prepare for its official start onApril 1, multiple City departments are once again working together to protect marine wildlife.This includes implementing sea turtle-friendly lighting practices and launching the Flip the Switch campaign to help educate our community. Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged, and potentially required based on location and building type, to implement sea turtle-friendly lighting practices such as keeping lights low, long and shielded, closingblinds or curtains at night and repositioning light fixtures to prevent light from shining toward the beach.https://www.mbrisingabove.com/seaturtles •Tuesday, April 7 -Resilience Tour of South Pointe Park and the Dunes for City StaffPickup and drop-off at City Hall (1700 Convention Center Drive) -11 AM to 12:30 PM City staff are invited to participate in a guided Resilience Tour of South Pointe Park and Dunes to learn about the innovative sustainable strategies to protect coastal infrastructureand enhance community preparedness.
