W eekly Hom eless Efforts 2026 U pdate #15 -April 06-A pril 12,2026
The purpose of this Lett er to C om m ission (L TC )is to provide a w eekly update on efforts by the Adm inistration
to curb ho m elessness in the C ity of M iam i Beach.This L T C is pro vided pursuant to Resolution No.2024-
33043 approved by the M ayor and C ity C om m ission at the M ay 15,2024 C ity Com m ission m eeting.The
A dm inistration was directed to publish a weekly L TC sharing the various m etrics and data regarding the
ho m eless population including the number of shelter beds and residential placem ents provided by the C ity
or its providers;the total num ber of shelter beds available to the C ity;the num ber of hom eless persons
arrested fo r violating the C ity 's ca m ping ordinance ;and other m etrics pertaining to the pro vision of serv ices
to hom eless persons in the C ity .
The Offi ce of Housing &C om m unity Serv ices Hom eless O utreach Serv ices Division,in collaboration with
the M iam i Beach Police Departm ent's H om eless Resource Unit ("HRU "),and other C ity departm ents,have
dedicated resources to addressing hom elessness cityw ide including thro ugh a unified outreach initiative.
Together,these team s conduct weekly joint outreach m issions to proactively address hom eless
encam pm ents in areas of concern ,w hile sim ultaneously offering serv ices to hom eless individuals
encountered during these m issions.This collaborative effort has augm ented engagem ent strategies in the
com munity by pro m oting m ore accessibility to serv ices pro vided w ithin the hom eless and m ental
health/substance abuse C ontinuum of C are.
