HomeMy WebLinkAboutLTC 178-2026 Miami Beach Sister Cities Committee Motions - April 2026MIAMI BEACH OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK LTC#178-2026 LETTER TO COMMISSION TO:Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission ow «"7 $° T e:Aon27,2026 1 SUBJECT:Miami Beach Sister Cities Committee Motions -April 2026 The purpose of this Letter to Commission ("LTC")is to inform the Mayor and City Commission of motions made,and unanimously approved,by the Sister Cities Committee on April 6,2026. Members present on April 6,2026,include Moni Cohen,Matti Bower,Janinha Piazzetta,Jared Plitt,Fred Bean,and George Neary.(Virtual:Allison Buttacavoli and Blanca Villarello) Motion #1:The Sister Cities Committee recommends ordering t-shirts specifically for the Miami Beach/Fujisawa,Japan Beach :Clean Up Day in July 2026,and a second generic design for the Sister Cities Committee. Motion #2:The Sister Cities Committee recommends allocating a budget,not to exceed $2,000,towards expenses related to Miami Beach Sister Cities Committee summer programming including,but not limited to,participation in a Miami Beach/Fujisawa,Japan Beach Clean Up Day and collateral associated,including t-shirts,promotional material,and photography;creation of a Miami Beach Sister Cities International Annual Awards video;and the creation of mid-year correspondence with all Miami Beach Sister Cities. Motion #3:The Sister Cities Committee recommends sending a delegation to the Sister Cities Internation 70 Anniversary Summit,taking place in Washington,D.C.July 22-25,2026,and a budget,in an amount not to exceed $6,000,to support of a two-member delegation to represent Miami Beach Sister Cities.
