LTC #184-2026 LETTER TO COMMISSION To: From: Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission Eric Carpenter, City Manager 1t,a� � Date: May 1, 2026 Subject: Dual Enrollment Program Status Update: Public and Private School Partnerships This Letter to Commission provides an update on the City of Miami Beach's dual enrollment partnerships with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS), Rabbi Alexander S. Gross (RASG) Hebrew Academy, Barry University, Florida International University (FIU), Miami-Dade College (MDC), and the University of Florida (UF). Dual enrollment enables eligible students to earn high school and post-secondary credit simultaneously. Partnership benefits include cost savings for families, expanded academic opportunities, accelerated degree progress, transferable college credit, and the integration of earned grades into permanent transcripts. Since partnership inception in Miami Beach public schools, the program has generated $3,891,328 in cumulative tuition savings for families whose students enroll in City-funded dual enrollment courses at Miami Beach Sr. High School (MBSH) and Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School (MBNMS).
